Chad has always been a far better riff and rhythm guitarist than a soloist. He also has a great gift for tones. Sean Hennesy can freaking wail a guitar so it makes sense to me.

I have only heard Chad solo one time and it was pretty good. I guess he has no confidence at it. I count soloing as sexy guitar flaying for over a minute.

Chad has a really unique solo style that I love, hell the solo in Graze is one of my favorites. But what I meant before is that the solos are never really technically impressive. It would be really sad for him to not have any solos on the TGF disc. I think having he and Sean both do solos would be awesome, even two in the same song because the styles are so completely different.

Taylor's aggressive playing has always made up for the lack of technicality for me.

I agree, this is not Chad's style. He's not Eddie Van Halen. He has his own niche and sound and how he delivers it is his own persona.

The SS bootlegs really bring this home. Those odd forsaken songs are like gold to my ears.

Graze, Ghost, Insomnia, all of them.

The only really lengthy solos he really did were the intro to WFG when they opened the TDTH shows.

Doesn't matte for me, I love his sound and energy.

The Deep Enough solo on the studio recording is one of his best, its too bad they hid it behind all kinds of keyboards and shit.
