Mkay, did you hear the full-band version? As for me, it fits the TDTH mood perfectly. Not going that well with the philosophy of the album on the other hand. But I do adore the full-band version. As well as the other unreleased TDTH stuff. All the demos, bsides, unreleased songs...

TDTH is not the best Live album. I don't even want to debate it.

Overcome doesn't fit the entire theme, we already had Dance with You on the record, they wouldn't put slow slow ballads on there, DWY was more upbeat.

The older overcome version was very good. Newer one, take it or leave it.

Where can we hear this older version?

I remember when MTV used to actually have music on it, they did a real short mtv news segment about a Tibet benefit that LIVE played at. Showed about 10 seconds of the whole band playing Overcome with Sheryl Crowe, Natalie Merchant and someone else singing background vocals. THAT version did not suck...............................

Didn't the rest of the band use FOL.com to release an email knocking Ed pretty hard? I also recall talk in that same email saying that Live will continue on without Ed?

I think it is fair he removed the link.

Love this time of year!

Friday, Dec 11th, 2009

Greetings all! My little alert window came up on my iphone and said "blog" and the first thing that came to my mind was how much I love this time of year. The Giving time. For those of you who have been coming to eddieklive.com for awhile, you know that Friday is my self-mandated "blog" day. It's a nice discipline for me in that it keeps me creating, especially when, like today, it's not so clear what I would even want to say! So here's my creativity for today in the form of a poem that I will write in the moment, little or no editing, here it goes...

Be still.
I love it.
doorway to my Soul
an act of self-control
reveals to me the One
still shining like the Sun

regardless of the dross
it seems we have to come across
this quiet Kingdom speaks to me
of everlasting verity

what I failed to understand
was sitting here at hand
beneath the storms of Its own Power
