Oh so "we" think nearly everything he wrote was terrible do we? Lucky he didn't write lightning crashes then...or to mention dolphins cry or face and ghost or dance with you or overcome. Geez if these songs were never released live would have been DEAD a LONG time ago!!!!

I think you are missing the point. Most long time fans agree that the quality of the music started to degrade (greatly) AFTER those songs you mentioned were already written. Overcome might be the only song post TDTH that was well received (by long time fans).

The 'new generation' Live was well received, by the adult contemporary crowd. Not by most of the people ( like me) who had supported them since the early 90's.

You quoted my post but you didn't even read it.

The band is credited with writing the music for all of Throwing Copper and TDTH, while Ed wrote the lyrics.

Hmmm, so LC, which he wrote in his teens and which is considered the band's biggest hit does not count?

He isn't credited as writing the music in the album.

Well, but you do kinow the story both he and Adam once told, right?

He may not be producing the music itself, but both text and melody belong to him I guess.

Exactly, but that's not the full song. Live's songs started going downhill when the guys quit collaborating on the actual music.

I would say that Ed is an above average lyricist and melody writer, but writing the music itself is not his strongsuit.

Yes, but all the instruments were removed for the actual release on V. The version that would have went on TDTH was pretty awful.

The other Overcome version wasn't as good I agree, but not awful. I actually like the vibe in it. There is a nice end with the cymbals strikes on most of the black notes. Different but very decent version. Of course the voice is not as nice, but maybe because of the production at the time.

By the I really regret to have bought a bootleg from his site. Even if the quality is good and etc., I feel a bit ashamed that after more than 2 weeks he only writes about what is going on in his store instead of clarifying a situation that involves a band that helped him gain his California life 20 years ago. So weird. That must have been some small issues from V or TDTH era that became so big that it exploded a couple of weeks (months ago)

That's why it wasn't included on the album, didn't fit there....to somber for the TDTH theme

Ed may be simply taking a page from Mr. Gene Simmons with the marketing of EK products as the Demon has in his entrepanureal life....which is very shrewd.

Or, perhaps he needs cash.

I wonder how many folks have purchased any of his eddie k live merch. Personally, I have no desire to buy any of his EKL stuff, however I do have lots of Live-related shirts and the like (even a coffee mug - but no wild child coffee for me. I can't afford it!).

I bought a t-shirt and the zip-up hoodie. I also downloaded the NJ show from his online store.
