QUOTE(itschris @ Dec 4 2009, 10:36 pm) *

yes absolutely. I had one or two different concert bootlegs where Ed says "this is our new song on our upcoming" album kinda thing. It was just really hard driving wah-wah pedal guiltars. It didn't have all that silly sound effect bullshit. There were keyboards but not overdone. It was guitar drivn, not keyboard synth sound effect driven like the disc version. I think even some of the lyrics were slightly different. It was a huge disappointment to hear the finished version.

I have the one that I'd say probably splits the first really awsome version I heard and the cd version. It's still much better than the disc. You want? I can email it to your or get it to you somehow. let me know.

I just ripped the track from my Montage Mtn Scranton pa bootleg, it was an early version played before they released V. More guitar heavy than Railos messes.

I was at this show and they really rocked out to it.

Someone tell me how to load it on one of those share sites.

QUOTE(Wambangalang @ Dec 4 2009, 5:39 am) *

yep im in agreement. some people's ed-hating is a little unnecessarily violent to the point of being weird. so the guy likes coffee and the good book. no one gave a shit when he was meddling in eastern religions. I also think it would suck if his kids did come across such posts. That just aint cool no.gif

I'm another one who agrees. And I've experienced enough of life and celebrities to know that no one is perfect, and celebrities maybe even a bit less so than others. *All* celebrities.

I also find it disturbing that people are willing to choose sides and throw away the good opinions about people that they have held for (sometimes) over a decade in a heartbeat.

QUOTE(Badman @ Dec 4 2009, 11:50 am) *

I'm pretty sure they will be more disturbed if they find that nude photoshoot that Ed did in the 90's... omg.gif

(I looked online for those for an hour... if anyone sees my history, they will think I am a weirdo.)

If you mean the ones he did for Kerrang with Jimmy Page's daughter as photographer, they probably wouldn't be that upset since nothing untoward was visible. If you know of some other nude photos I'd be happy to see them.

(I'm not counting Ed mooning the camera when they were recording the follow-up to SS and have the live feed from the recording studio).

reading some of ed's blogs from the summer(yea, the bible stuff), I find it interesting in light of the past few weeks Live's news and what was revealed by Chad T....perhaps I am grasping.......(when did you discover you were naked...when did you discover the secret contract)

Eating is Believing.
Wednesday, Jul 8th, 2009

This is in response to a question I received on Twitter-JUPITERDROP@EDDIEKLIVE Good Morning, could you explain, how eating from the tree makes you naked in the following - Gen.3:10-12?

The "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" in the Garden of Eden is not an actual tree but a metaphor for the structure of conditional knowledge that emerges moment to moment in our awareness as thinking. This structure is always portrayed in the bible as Satan, the deceiver; the "who" in "Who told you that you were naked?" "In the Beginning" which is always Now, the body-mind is the spontaneous creation of an awesome Power of Good and Harmony, or God. "Eating of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" in this case refers to thinking, which is always done in relatives or opposites, naked-clothed, good-evil, black-white. Contemplation or meditation on and in our very own sense of Being (which is identical with God), allows attention to rise above thinking and drops us back into the "garden", the non-dual and Primal State of Genesis. And that my friends, is oh so very Good. smile.gif

God that is the biggest load of shit. I've always hated this side of Ed, not so much because it's christianity or anything, but the whole making something so simple try to sound like an amazingly intelligent and deep concept. Being trapped at an intergal naked conference listening to them all prattle on trying to sound so in touch with spirituality is probably one of the worst things I can imagine in the history of worst things imagined. There's something so incredibly pretencious and wanky about it.

Or maybe that's just me, i've been extremely agitated at little things recently (hint to Z-man .. please dont reply to this with capital letters or words in "exclamation" marks banana.gif )

Well said. Talk about over-complicating a matter that should be as easy as breathing. Buddha will be spinning in his grave!

Well, I guess you haven't had to listen at length to any theological speculation by actual priests, ministers, rabbis, imams and what not. because that's more or less how they talk only with more detail.

(Now, I'm an atheist or agnostic or whatever, but I used to study archaeology and anthropology. In some of my ancient near eastern archaeology courses, there were a bunch of people from theology school. That's how I know how they think.)

At least christian Ed's stuff is phrased in a more or less comprehensible way. Some of the earlier stuff was spiritual babble as far as I'm concerned. This stuff is like basic theology mixed with early 90s semiotics.

To be honest, I only tolerated the "spritual" part of Live's 4-part personality because I hoped it might make them better people (without making them Creed) . When Adi-Da was Ed's focus I was totally creeped out.

But Ed's not any of those sarcasm.gif Maybe he reads too much/listens to them too much though.

As far as I've been able to tell, he doesn't seem to read anything *but* theology and stuff since before SS

I don't know how "deep" Ed's writings are compared to others, but it's still more than enough for me to lose interest instantly.
