If you were in Ed's position right now, would you address the problem via something like a blog update? Or would you be happy for people to make up their own minds and speculate about you?

True, it could be advice from a lawyer, would make sense too .. but given Ed's attitude lately I'd be more willing to bet he's just ignoring the issue publicly. I think he could issue a statement in a way that would avoid a twitter war though.

I said in the EK thread this week that the only talking Ed will be doing is from his attorneys...not him. I am positive they have him on a gag order.

Actually, out of all the posters on here Jon has probably been the closest to the truth. So I would say he does know Jack! He may not know CT, CG or PD. But he apparently knows Jack!

As for the intricate details, that is absolutely something that the 4 of them will work out between them. They have tried for a long time, but have been ignored.
So unfortunately it brings it to a legal arena.

Someone made a great point on here. If you went to work everyday and you were getting paid 20 bucks and hour working your ass off in a plant or a factory or driving a truck. You expect that paycheck. However when paycheck time comes around you look and the check is for half of what you should have received you would get upset. However, you may then say to yourself "there must be some mistake. I will go see the payroll department and they will fix it." So you go to the payroll department the lights off, doors locked. You try to call them, no answer, right to voice mail. You finally see the payroll lady and you ask her "hey, my paycheck was messed up can you fix it" and she looks at you and then says "do you even work here?

And I do know what I am talking about!

Sad fact - the three former members of live that are not Ed seems to have inherited a pair of male stalkers.

Jon P and The Thrill, do you realize you are not doing Chad, Chad and pat any favours at all with your constant bellyaching about Ed, contracts and money? It doesn't matter if you're telling the truth or not, you're just getting of everybody's tits with your inane and constant ranting.

If the guys in the band know you personally, or you are indeed members of TGF as some of us half joke about, they should tell you to wind your necks in and stick to shameless plugging of how good TGF's songs arre. If what you say is 100% on the up about Ed, it should have all been kept quiet until legally resolved. This kind of loose lipped blathering can actually damage their case should it end up in court, let alone if it's not true landing you with Ed's lawyers prosecuting the pair of you for defamation.

Oh, what the hell - carry on boys. We've not had this kind of entertainment since the days of AndTheLettuce.

Sad Fact: I was chatting to a friend from the uk who asked what I was up to .. I said I was watching some clips on youtube .. she asked which ones and I linked her to the Lakini's Juice and White Discussion video clips .. she'd never heard of Live before and was absolutely blown away and demanded a list of every song she needed to hear. She was a bit pissed off she discovered this "new band" and I tell her they just broke up after 20+ years

I think it's just sad because I always thought: If any of my favorite bands will stick together, it will be LIVE. I guess I didn't see the writing on the wall, but I always thought their longstanding friendship would keep them together, in good times and bad.

Hopefully, though, this will be a good time of healing for all involved. I'm looking forward to hearing Ed's new solo material and whatever becomes of the remaining Live members, whether they work on new projects or get a new lead singer.

Being a fan of Van Halen, I'm pretty sure that, eventually, the four will reunite. Personal issues have a way of fading in importance over time, and then all that's left is the memory of how great it felt to make music together. That will bring them back.

Doesn't surprise me at all. When people ask me what bands I'm into, I rarely say LIVE....there's no point. Especially not now, anyway.
