I think we all know that Ed has great potential. I've always heard people say that it might take a dark, depressing turn of events to get Ed back to writing some powerful stuff. If he allows this ugly break up to affect him in any way, he might use some of that brilliant introspective energy for his upcoming projects.

With that said, what do you guys see him doing after this solo record? Do you think he'll keep writing solo records? Or join some established band who needs a new frontman? I think he could fit in with a lot of great bands. I was thinking about different rock bands that would sound good with Ed, and one that jumped out was SafetySuit. Their music sounds a bit like Live. Another possibility would be some type of tv show. He's got great stage presence, and he's great with the camera. Or do you guys just see him selling coffee at ridiculous prices for the next 10 years?

Ed's meant to be a frontman, it's the best place for him. If he thinks he can draw huge crowds as a solo act......I'm not seeing it.

I think that Ed could have a very lucrative solo career if all the things he has done with Daughtry pay off for him when he releases the record, and if the record has some strong material on it. Taking advantage of the connection he has with Daughtry is going to be essential to his success though. That's the biggest "in" he has got to mainstream success.

If not, I imagine he'll just keep selling jewelry.

Also, the guys in Safetysuit are really cool guys, had the honor of playing a show with them about two years ago before anyone even knew who they were. They had just gotten signed at the time. I don't think they'll be looking for a frontman anytime soon though.

Me neither.

But then he seems to prefer to stay home with his kids rather than go on long tours (or such is my impression), so maybe he intends to make money from writing songs for other artists?

Google Bernie Taupin, try Kris Kristofferson & Michael Bolton too.....oh and look up Amadaeus Mozart too while you're at it.

I think Ed might try to become Mike B.....he actually might be successful at that angle, after he pays back the $$ rockin.gif

I can see him become one of those tv evangelists that I see on the tv in the early am when I can't sleep, preaching and trying to get people to send him money. lol.gif

In the 80s: Desmond Child. Jim Vallance. Now: Linda Perry. And these guys aren't primarily performers.

There is now band in the world that sounds like Live.

There is no frontman for Live other than Ed.

There i sno Live if it is not for the four of them even if they re-gather in a couple of years for the money only.

There is no good backing band for Ed except for Chad, Pat and Chad.

Ed's future is in his own hands. As well as TGF's.
