See once again, your assuming.....who is to say that their marketing campaign wont include radio & tv appearances? I bet it will! They haven't even begun to market the band yet. All they are doing is updating their personal sites and the band sites to let fans know what is going on etc. Its way too early to have anything official. They are busy in the studio making an album and wouldnt have time to go and do a tv show or radio appearance. It would be counter productive.

As I said before, Chad Taylor is an amazing business man. He will make sure everything is done in a business like fashion. Just because they are on their own label, dont assume they have any limitations as to what they can and will do for marketing.

You honestly think that Chad Taylor and Patrick Dahlheimer can become house hold names all around the world? My Grandmother knows who Susan Boyle is and not because she likes the music .. do you honestly think the same can happen with these guys? It's not comparing the same thing.
They hopefully will get some TV time, that'd be great .. but it wont be the same as the launch Boyle got.

Excuse me, but isnt LIVE already very popular overseas? Did CandleBox not just come back from a concert in Chile?

I think some on here may be underestimating and some may be overestimating.

I will agree that the album will be very successful as well.
How many it will sell and how many people will get there hands on the album will be two different numbers.

Unfortunately nowadays way too many people steal music from artists by downloading illegal copies so thr true number will never really be known.

I must agree that in this day and age with that happening its difficult for any artist to sell a million copies. How susan boyle sold that many copies is beyond me. I didnt think that many fans existed for that type of music.
I think that if she does have a second album it wont do anywhere near what the first one did.

In all fairness, Susan Boyle's launch has been a rather exceptional case.

I understood this and know what he meant. he also went on to say that chad sent an email and he knew that was an email from a leader and that is where he wanted to be.

thats is a much different tone from live, where Ed was the lead singer and leader.
kevin practically appointend Chad the leader. did anyone else catch that? to me that speaks volumns of charachter. most singers get big egos and it seems he didnt have one in this video or he would have said im the leader.

in reality it is not a new lead singer for our band. its a new band and from what i heard from the blog and clips it does sound different, but ill reserve further until I hear more. Even if we can get 1 full song...PLEASE if someone from the band is on here. JUST 1 SONG....how about with no lyrics or something.
I must say since I am a fan of both bands I am curious / excited and with anticipation for this album.

It is a completely new band, but it is understandably difficult for many to get past the fact that the guys essentially stayed together and replaced Ed with a new lead singer. That is obviously not the point of the band, but it is hard for those who have supported Live hardcore for 20 years to accept. That is all I was saying.

Combine the sales of the latest Candlebox album and SFBM and you've got a pretty good idea of how this album will sell without significant airplay and promotion. Can they get that? Sure, but it is really difficult to do without major label backing.

Its hard to imagine this album getting more backing than the last album by either group, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Its kinda like if your parents go through a divorce and then your mom gets remarried. he cant replace dad but he wants you to call him dad....NO WAY!

It is not an unattainable level. Susan Boyle...a person who sings OPERA music just sold 701,000 albums in the USA alone in her first week. Worldwide she sold over 2 million.
She is not even singing her own songs they are all covers!

Because she was in a few million living rooms week after week on a shitty talent show that most people only watch to laugh at the nutbags auditioning?

If she had looked like a Playboy Bunny or even a normal person rather than a woman you expect to smell of stale pee and find shouting at the cheese in the supermarket, she wouldn't have even got 5 seconds on TV in the first place. But as it is she has a half decent voice and more money spent on marketing than someone like Lady Gaga.

If you think The Gracious Few are going to be chart topping household names, short of you having signed them up for America's Got Talent's next series without the band knowing, you're deluding yourself.

Damn, someone understands. As sad as it is, most people don't dive deeper than what MTV and what these talent shows feed them. They can market and hype up anything and most will flock to it like a fly towards a piece of shit. This is a total different beast then something like a few guys from a couple of know bands trying to market themselves.

you havent even heard ONE song and made this comment. Unlike you, I have heard 2 full songs and a partial of a 3rd. They were very good.

If this album is going to do well on shitty American radio then I don't want any part in it.

Radio airplay and television appearances have nothing to do with how good the music is, and those are all dictated by money.

If this album manages to go gold it would be a huge success. For perspective, the last Live album to go gold was TDTH and the last Candlebox album to go gold was Lucy.

Ed uses Live so why not The Gracious Few
