QUOTE(Deku @ Nov 30 2009, 5:40 pm) *

I wonder what Adam thinks about all this? He's been as much affected by it as TGF guys have.

I hadn't thought of Adam when I first read all of this, but I imagine he must feel quite conflicted and sickened by all of this. I am sure he is good friends with Chad, Gracey and Patrick. He must really feel like crap about all of this. His brother and his good friends are going through all of this and in some ways, he is probably in the middle and a little conflicted. I feel bad for Adam.

I'm glad to finally hear this. I don't have to wonder what has or will happen. Thanks for setting the record straight on the fallout.

This information brings to light why post TDTH was basically trash. It also makes me doubt I will purchase a new album by Ed. If he screwed and destroyed the band I love it tears me up. Thanks Ed.

I'm excited about the Gracious Few even more now. The getting out from behind the glass statement from Gracey makes more sense too. At the same time I'm taking eddieklive.com off of my favorites list. I haven't given it a dime and I won't. Ed wants my money, he's only getting what he's already got.

Side note - seriously, a $10 pendant for $99, get real!

Chad mentions Live replacing Ed. I would be excited to see Live back together with the new singer. Old tunes and fresh juices. Hope they will be Live again soon with a solid frontman.

Chad and guys won't let Live fade away.........you could always get Ed wanna be Daughtry to sing later on.

Plenty of singers, post Ed Live can be new material harking back to the days when the I Alone outro guitar whammy shook our souls.

The eddieklive.com store is all you need to know where Ed's head is at.

Sell Out.

Live without Ed would be a real hard sell for me. The Gracious Few is a totally new band, and that will be great. However, new Live minus Ed just would be very hard for me(as long with plenty of other fans) to accept.

Let's let future history be our answer on that.

Nick, I recall you getting flamed and driven out of the SOY boards years ago for honestly reporting after a show that you finally got backstage (I think because of Jimmy's generosity) and finally got to meet Live, but Ed was a real jerk and seemed to be under the influence of something. You were completely disapointed in the Ed you met compared to the Ed you expected. You were being honest, but at the time, the truth was too controversial and you took heat for it. It seems that Ed has been that guy you experienced all along. I have experienced that Ed myself.

So why do you now give him the benefit fo the doubt at every turn and he can do no wrong in your eyes?

Nah, actually Live without another singer doesnt feel good. At least, dont call it Live then. TGF is in fact Live with another singer (and another tour/rythem guitarist), and they promised to play Live songs. So let the name Live rest. Only point is, that Martin won't be a singer that will continue to work with them for years.

Ed in 2004 was fucked up on whatever drug he was on. In 2006 I experienced a different Ed who was cordial and really awesome to my wife and I. Ed was cordial to me this past month when I met him and very nice to my friend.
Do I think Ed is a great guy, probably not. But in this situation, I'd like to hear his side of the story. There could be more at work than what we see. That is all I am saying.

Either way, I'm going to support The Gracious Few and Eddie Kowalczyk.

One other thing I'll say: people involved in litigation or potential litigation need to be very careful about what they say and type on the internet. Also, people who type and say things that potentially effect someone else's business and ability to earn a living need to be careful in order to avoid becoming a defendant in a lawsuit. Chad should be cautious.

Email just received from FOL:

QUOTE
A personal message from Chad Taylor:

Dead Friend of Live,

Let me start by thanking you for your many years of devoted loyalty to our music. Bands are lucky if they have one hit and fade away but in the case of Live, you kept us relevant for more than 20 years. Today I am writing you as a fan of the band with sad news.

As many of you know, Live was having a hard time keeping things together. After many years of friendship, love and laughter it became clear that things had run their course. I was in denial. Our working relationship with Ed had grown cold and we were only on limited speaking terms for the last several months. We agreed for the sake of the bands future to take a break and announced the hiatus. During that time period we discovered a contract executed in 2005 that engaged the bands company into a legal obligation that did not have majority consent from the band. Ed’s signature was the only one required.

We were fast to try and open communication with Ed or his legal team but got no reply. Our hiatus had fast turned into a break up. Chad, Patrick and I have no plans to replace Ed at this point in time, however, he will no longer be a member of our band. We are excited by the opportunities ahead of us and will look to enjoin forces with vocalists and instrumentalists that will hold high the ideals set forth by the band and its fans. Yes, there may be future Live recording and tours but we are all very realistic that it will never be the same without Ed. That doesn’t mean that it can’t be great.

Like you, we are greatly saddened by the discoveries we made but as many of you know, life has a way of sorting things out. Ed will always be tied to Live and we will never make attempts to shadow his considerable lyrical and melodic contributions to our music.

Stay tuned to FOL for more details on our future plans. I would also ask that we all take the time to remember the positive energy Ed, Chad, Patrick and I spent so many years pushing forward. I’m trying hard myself to not be judgmental and let life flow freely around me.

Love,
Chad Taylor

On behalf of Chad Gracey and Patrick Dahlheimer
