Chad Gracey hasn't really been "quiet" or "reserved." He called Ed's solo concert a lounge act and said his new music basically sucked. He might not have shared details about the break-up but was very clear he was not a fan of EK anymore.

They didnt just find out about this...they kept quiet for a long time to keep the band A LIVE....but after months and months it became clear that Ed was not a team player...my new name for him is DICK ED...

All I can say is Wow! I am stunned.

I was planning to be a very strong TGF fan, but this has really taken me out of the EK camp now.

I've posted this elsewhere, but I have met the band on numerous occasions and I can tell you that virtually every time that I have met Ed, he was rude and arrogant toward me. On the other hand, Chad, Chad and Patrick have been so nice, and warm and friendly and kind that I was amazed. Those three guys were so friendly and warm and genuinely nice every time I have spent time with them. I found it particularly disallusioning because of Ed's lyrics - I had expected his behavior and personality to at least reflect his lyrics a little bit. Since a couple of years ago, after a particularly rude encounter with Ed in Philadelphia, I remained a big fan of Live mainly because of Chad, Chad and Patrick and despite Ed's ego. Years ago, Ed stopped travelling with the band. Stopped hanging out with them before shows. Years ago, he took over writing the music and everyone knows what happened since TDTH. Ed can't write music alone like Live could together on the first 4 albums. Sally from PA has pointed out on this very message board that there is stuff behind the scenes that will come out and that Ed is no saint. I guess this is what she was talking about.

LOL. Wear my pendant while wearing my T-shirt and sitting under my $200 stick figure on your wall while you drink my coffee and read my tweets about God. LOL

Let's face it folks. The emperor has no clothes. Ironically, Edward Kowalczyk has become the very thing that he criticized on the Throwing Copper album. I never thought I'd see it happen. But how ironic. He's a Christian-centric, truth-preaching, egotistical, greedy, personality-leader. Is he not the preacher leading the flock off the side of a cliff on the cover of TC?

oh Hitler, in a robe of truth
my emptiness has built your altar
and I've worshipped myself in you forever
until now!

Here is something we can feel good about... Bands normally suck if the writer of the songs is happy and content with life. If Gracey has anything to do with the writing, we can expect some good tunes with some passion we haven't seen in a long time.

If the house of Live has collapsed, maybe TGF can be the fire that burns off the rubble. Flame.gif

Ha, these were the first lyrics to spring to my mind after reading CT's post.

our love is like water
pinned down and abused
for being strange

our love is no other
than me alone
for me all day

our love is like water
pinned down and abused

all over you, all over me
the sun, the fields, the sky
I've often tried to hold the sea
the sun, the fields, the tide
pay me now, lay me down

yep, he knew what he was writing there, deep down that's all he ever wanted was to 'be' the show.

I've seen enough shows and several being on the front wall to infer the frontman ego shit gone manic.

Listen to the bootleg 'Stage' and you'll get a clear picture.

This all kind of figures from the signs we've seen for years...

What I can't figure out is, though, WHICH member of Live is Jon P. smile.gif

He posts from the same time zone as York, PA, and he was on here saying stuff that no one outside the band knew before it became public. He obviously has an axe to grind, which is cool and all, but shouldn't he have the guts to do it under his own name? Anyway, wouldn't that be more fulfilling? smile.gif

I have never even met any of the members of the band. EVER! Not an autograph or anything. However, I know a few people close to them. One of my good friends is best friends with one of their brothers and I know another person that works with them on occassion. And yes it is on the east coast. Dont you think friends and family knew what was going on? I just got sick of everyone blaming the guys for what Ed did.

Awesome post, especially the bit about the Throwing Copper cover.

What you said about Ed being kinda distant and rude is so totally true and that goes back a long time. I remember going to the Chameleon for when his brother launched his band in '94-'95 (might be confusing dates, can't remember the name of the band Adam something or other, I have it on an old flyer somewhere) and he was walking around (by himself) like he owned the place, just radiating arrogance. The funny part was that hardly anyone showed up for his brother's band, most people were there for the headlining act, which was just another local band.

It's true, I remember the first time I met them it was amazing watching Ed ... his level of interaction and interest was purely dictated by firstly if you were male or female, and if female, how attractive you were. His brother on the other hand spent most of his time asking me about my job for god knows whatever reason and where he bought his hat from, but he came across as totally genuine and the complete opposite of Ed.

QUOTE
"Ladies, ladies...I come from a family where blow jobs don't count." - Ed Kowalczyk, Orlando, FL, September 2004.

Naturally, he was plastered. He ignored everybody that came up to him, except girls. At one point two girls were sitting on his lap, fighting over going back to his hotel room. One said it wouldn't be possible because he was married, to which Ed replied with the above remark. It just came off as totally sleazy.
