Well I think you can count V as well. Chad G. said before "V is where it all started".

Btw, I think it was Like I do and Lighthouse that had fullband credits, or at least more credit than only Ed. Don't know about Rivertown.
It's both interesting and sad that the last song they recorded together had finally also credit from another bandmember again than Ed (Chad T.).

you've a recording of that radio appearance? Would love to hear that!

I do have it on a cdr someplace in my bootleg collection. I'll try to find it this weekend, when I get back home. I downloaded it from the web a long while back....might have been here or swami's old site.

I scanned the records today before I made that post and those 2 tracks are the only whole band credits for the lyrics/music. I hated V with a passion. That is the record which i got from the internet via the web-leak a month prior to the release date. I only like Deep Enough from that album. Way too much Railo drowning out the Live sound. Oh I can go on and on!!

To me, he looks more and more like Daughtry every day. Ten bucks says he names his new band "Kowalczyk" lol

It's a cool pic. Perhaps it will adorn Ed's solo effort.

Kowalczyk is a good bet for the name. Ed should invite the plaigarizer from Iceland to stand in between sets. Just kidding. hehe.gif

He looks like he's going to get carbon monixide poisoning judging by all that exhaust smoke.

Bid on a TGF autographed guitar to raise money for It's Time to Rock Autism New York.

Oh great, that's REALLY going to bring the money in. A signed guitar from what is so far a theoretical band who has only got as far as a shite sampler that sounded like some 14 year old had done in their bedroom and a photo inappropriately overpopulated with sunglasses.

This is my first post, but I am a frequent visitor to the site and a huge fan of Live. I wanted to post something after I was a given a little more insight into the Live hiatus/breakup.

I was visiting my parents in Lancaster, PA this weekend and I ran into a woman who attended Adam K's wedding. She is friends with Adam's wife. She was told by Adam's wife that the band broke up because Ed wanted 50% of all the money coming in. Obviously the other guys in the band didn't like this.

If you go back and read some of Chad's twitter posts, you can see where this could be true. Like they say, money is the route of all evil.

She also told me that Ed was the best man in the wedding, but that neither Chad T., Chad G. nor Pat attended.

A few things to comment on:

-Kowalczyk would be a horrible band name. I just proved why by butchering the spelling. There's a reason why it will be called "Eddie K." Personally I think Ed K. would have been cooler.

-Regardless of whether the band is done or not, its cool that they are doing that guitar thing.

-It wouldn't surprise me if Ed was already getting over 50% of the money. Being credited as sole songwriter does that on its own and is a big reason that many bands break up. I imagine he was getting all the profit from his acoustic gigs too.

Since it keeps coming up, I'm glad that TGF is waiting for a proper studio recording to share the music with us. I would prefer a real, live show but there may be contractual reasons preventing that (its the only reason I can think of why they wouldn't have done one yet).

Ah yes the good old money argument, always in the disguise of creative direction.

Here's a good question.

Who is distributing the royalty checks for all other other Live albums, EP's etc? (with the exception of the Live at the Paradiso discs - which is Vanguard Records - indie label).

Live is no longer listed as on Epic Records for the back catalog.

Is Action Front Records the royalty entity for Live at the moment?

I figured that Epic was still the owner, but since Epic screwed Live over by burying them, I was wondering perhaps that this mess might be an indication that they are no more....or simply in between companies.

What I don't get is that if all of this about Ed is true (which it very well may be), why do both parties keep calling this a hiatus and not a break-up? If Chad, Chad and Pat were truly that offended, shouldn't they just say "we're through with Live for good"?

Epic Records wouldn't have anything to do with any of their catalogue except SFBM.

Generally speaking, ASCAP would actually make payments based on radio play. This would probably go to their management team and then be disbursed from there. I think they are still repped by Kurfist-Blackwell Entertainment.

In terms of their album sales, depending on their deal, the money would go either to the original distributor (MCA) or to the releasing label, which in LIVE's case was Radioactive. My guess it goes right to Radioactive. The latter still lists the entire live catalogue (up until SFBM) on their site. Looks like they're also handling the publishing catalogue as well. So you can bet they're getting a big chunk then paying out to the respective songwriters (mostly Ed).
