Look at the musical dis-progression from TDTH........less hard rockin live.....more sappy Adult Contemporary Matchbox 20 crap. Anyone can plainly infer this.

This is not a shock at all, but it is interesting to see it acknowledged in public.

It is also interesting that he says the last two albums, I guess the guys contributed more to V than originally thought? This would make sense to me, because I considered BOP to be where things really headed south. Not that V was great by any stretch but it had some rockers on there.

The V experiment was where things went rediculously silly. BOP had some energy songs, go look at the 'written by'......last 2 songs which were written by the 'band' were Like I Do and Rivertown. (2003)

V is where more and more of Ed as the voice of the band started to show through.

The last time i remember Ed really discussing some great new things was the radio appearance where he was hawking a return to old Live sound.......Like I Do demo snippet in 2002.

I've been out of the Live current events as I for one have been disgusted with the bands progression into Adult Contemporay format, the end of MCA records and the abortion of the Epic contract pushing Live into oblivion. The music industry really sucks ass and the shit we hear today is an abortion. I felt that Ed may have been leading the charge here (with pressure from the record label) and the other 3 guys weren't always always in favor as it alienated the real fans of Live. (Simply my opinion)

Having a side project to bring back the magic to the fanbase is all I ask for. Some of the newer rock bands are very good but suffer under the weight of coporate greed and push for mfg'rd crap. The video games Rock Band and Guitar her further push the Rock genre further down the rat hole.

EDDIEKLIVE depending on how it all falls together and where you live, hard to say which version you'll get, but in any event, I'll be there singing lol

V and BOP both had some good rockers, but also some serious shit. SFBM was all serious shit. To me anyways.

V was definitely the start of the slide, but I always enjoyed a lot of it because it was at least interesting and unlike anything they had done to that point.

Glad for Ed and his new band, I'm sure he'll be happy to have a backing band that he and the record label can tell what to do.

Well I think you can count V as well. Chad G. said before "V is where it all started".

Btw, I think it was Like I do and Lighthouse that had fullband credits, or at least more credit than only Ed. Don't know about Rivertown.
It's both interesting and sad that the last song they recorded together had finally also credit from another bandmember again than Ed (Chad T.).

I kinda expected this as well... but, now i think about it: so now Ed has just another (backing)band behind him, with the difference that he can still do his own thing... I think (as it now seems that it was Ed's decission not to continue for now) that he won't get back to his former backing band (the boys of Live, "that once where pissing in the mainstream"), unless his solo/new band - carreer doesnt make any money.
Personally I'm glad he's not going acoustic forever now. At least that's a positive thing.
