If The Gracious Few and Eddie K's records bomb. LIVE will be back touring in no time! their is money to be made touring.

Hopefully we get some good music out of this but I doubt it will be huge. So I believe +LIVE+ will be back sooner than later. The TGF sun glasses pic dosen't fill me with confidence that these guys can rock. They look like a local bar band or the guys in the KILLERS minus the Brandon flowers. Eddie K is probably going to make another SFBM with a couple of "rockin" songs like "Believe". "Believe" wasn't awful and neither was "Zion"(which wasn't rockin).

I think Ed will do much better than TGF. Ed will get numbers in the Pop, adult contemporary and maybe Christian rock charts.

For the sake of all parties involved and us fans, let's hope this hiatus, whatever doesn't ever get like Pink Floyd's 25 year spat

Live's last show in NY had well over 2000 people in attendance(it was a 3000 capacity venue). Not to mention that the show was held on a Sunday which isn't a heavy volume concert date. The night before in Cleveland, Live was sold out at the House of Blues.

Live makes a good chunk of change touring. Do they make U2 money? Absolutely not, but not many bands do. Eddie K can tour solo acoustic and be relatively successful because he is
a. playing Live songs
b. touring solo and acoustic(does not to have to pay a huge road crew and other band members besides jen Lowe).
Ed probably won't make "Live" money, but he should do pretty well for himself financially.

The Gracious Few will intially struggle to fill 300 person venues at dirt cheap ticket prices. They will have to pay a crew and split their purse five ways. They are definitely going to miss the money they were making with Live.

Just my two cents....

I wonder how successful Ed would be if he didn't play the songs he wrote with Live.
I talked to a bunch of people at the Stroudsburg show and the majority agreed that it is not the same without the rest of the band.

Unsurprisingly I think your estimation about the Gracious Few is a little low. Considering I saw Candlebox pack out two 1,200 seat venues on their last tour, and you already gave the numbers for Live, I am pretty sure if marketed well then they will be just fine. There is also no hard and fast rule that says they will hire a crew. Just like Eddie K their first tour will be a success as long as its promoted well, the later ones will depend on how their album does.

Not saying they will make a ton of bank but "struggling to fill a 300 person venue" really shows your bias. I'm sure this could happen in certain cities but if they are smart then they won't play any of those cities.

Westbury was " crowd dull" I thought..
2000 for +LIVE+ s last show?
....just my .02 cents but I would think "most" of us who saw +LIVE+ that night knew the crowd really wasnt "all" that into it(except US diehards!)..and as I turned around...I saw "alot" of empty seats....and I am "pretty" sure that the guys werent into it as much either....so to me..that show..the last show....in New York...was "crowd-dull",,,,BUT I liked it(cept for ride home)....lets look at other venues ....how did they do @ Penns Peak 08?? less then 1000 I thought....I guess its hard to fill bigger venues...but some of these places SUCK...Northern Lights...Croc Roc......really...if you read what they are saying..we wont see them together anytime soon...I would say(predict) that Eddie would put his "own" band together before he would get back with the boys..I know nothing...thats my guess...my INTUITION...which has been really good lately.....I respect and like them "all" as musicians and people and wish them all the best and REALLY LOOK FORWARD to CT/PD/CG new project...yet look forward to what EDDIE K does in the future...we should all appreciate all they are doing no matter what it is,SUPPORT THEM....They gave us many years of music we love... kicking.gif

The Long Island crowd for their last show was very into the concert, especially compared to the triple bill show in the same venue a year earlier.

Penns Peak was an empty crowd, but any other Live show that I've seen have seen over the years have been in a packed venue.

Of course an acoustic show is going to be different from a full band show. I still contest that Ed puts on an amazing show all by himself. However, I do think he will be playing with a full band soon enough.
