On SOY it said that this was posted and deleted from The Gracious Few's facebook:

"Things do change but this will allow us to grow by leaps and bounds. We were stifled in LIVE by Ed's immense EGO. We have be revitalized and are ready to blow this up again. WE WILL ROCK again! We have been writing and will record in Nov/Dec. CD release in Spring 2010..."

Post TDTH quality definately dropped off a lot (SFBM stinks) although songs like Like I do, Lighthouse, Rivertown give some hope that Ed can write good songs on his own still..although that was 6 years ago

Saw Gracey at the last show ever (Westbury) and I said something along the lines of "dont break up" and he said "tell ed that" and made a face...something tells me the guys still had hope that the music would turn around but it never did, and that coupled with the idea that it was Ed who eventually made the decision to go solo made them all VERY bitter

No matter what the case is, the LOLs, hahaha's and trash talking over twitter has been the completley wrong/most immature way to address the issues towards the fans

I did think the "lounge act" comment was hilarious.

I saw the hilarious "lounge act" in Seattle and the first few songs were amazing, acoustic, Ed singing his soft heart out, but after that I lost interest. It was boring, repetitive and lacked anything special.

It was so blah that I decided not to see the show again the next night in Portland. For those who know me, I would have done so for LiVE anyday, any way.

Like I Do and Lighthouse weren't written by Ed on his own...the only two songs post TDTH that were a collaborative effort (edit | along with Purifier). It's no coincidence that these are thought of by many to be a high-water mark for Live in the 2000's.

I think chatting via Facebook. I talked with him via Facebook a few weeks ago as well. It was on he 'Gracious Few' account and he said it was CG talking. He told me what we more or less now: Ed refused to let them participate in the songwriting since V. "That's when it all started", he typed to me. So I defenately think that he's not embarassed with TDTH. They were really rocking out back than, not only on that album, but also count all those outtakes.

Looking to the records, for me only 1991-1999 is Live \ anyway. 2001-2009 has been Ed+his backing band. Which I enjoyed at times very much as well, btw.

I wouldn't be shocked if this were somewhat true, but for the love of christ (no christian pun intended - sorry Ed) did it really take 3 men roughly 3 more albums to say "screw this...this man is not letting us write songs anymore!!" I know that there is probably a great deal of circumstance revolved around that, eg, money, no other options at the time, etc, etc, but guys, we're talking about 3 albums (V, BOP, SFBM) over a 5-6 year period!!! If it were that bad with Ed, they should have done this break-up sooner, especially if they were being "true" to themselves. That's the MAJOR thing that bothers me about the gripes gracey and taylor (and prob PD) have with Ed.
