Yeah I reckon its good! I've been reading a few posts now about ed destroying live with godly stuff and people saying his music is now too poppy.

The only artists that are any good are those who produce work they truly believe in and put their heart and soul into it. If this is what Ed believes in and puts everything he can into it then how can people say such rubbish?

Artists don't just change what they feel and produce based on a few fans' opinions. They make what they believe in and people can like or hate it.

Ed really created live anyway and it would have been nothing without him. If he wants to produce different music now then it is hardly fair to say he's killing live.

Looking forward to the solo album but after hearing a bit of candlebox I would be extremely surprised if I will like it. If you just want a lot of screaming music then it may be ok but I don't think he can sing anywhere near as good as ed.

First of all welcome to the board!! Second of all, Ed didn't create Live, not by a long shot. If you want a good history of the band let us know and I'm sure the board here can fill you in!

I've been a fan for a long time so don't really need a history.

I know that he didn't 'create' as such.......he really joined them but what i'm getting at is that live would not at all be what it was without him.

If someone other than ed joined the band 20yrs ago we probably would never have heard of them (of course this is only my opinion and stand to be corrected!)

I think a lot of this has been shown by ed having so much success at these acoustic gigs which don't even have an accompanying band.

Ed is playing a lot of songs that he wrote together with the band though. Obviously Ed's voice has been important for the band but when Live became popular it didn't have nearly as much to do with Ed. Vocalists just weren't as essential to success back then.

Yeah thats fair enough we all have different opinions on what makes music special to us.

I know that lightning crashes was 100% written and made by ed alone and most would rate this as their biggest hit and the main song that they are remembered for.

Buy anyway this was all with reference to ed killing live and I think that statement was rediculous and was trying to show that it is not true. It was in another thread though so I guess its a little off topic to discuss it here anyway eh!
