I think this is great. So much drama. Who the hell wants a rock band to ACTUALLY be gracious anyway???

The whole thing is probably one big joke between the 4 of them

If we're going to have such ungraciousness, NOW is the time for The Gracious Few to take up my anagram of their name and be the Whore Fag Cuties. I won't even sue them for intellectual theft.

So you reckon it's a publicity stunt cum in joke and is actually the guys... drum roll please... 'selling the drama' for a laugh? What do you reckon Ed's reply will be if this is the case "Fuck off back into your plexiglass cage, little drummer boy!"? So far Ed has been the gracious one and not got dragged into a Twitter pissing up the wall contest.

Makes sense. Glad someone responded so quickly. Had the potential "hacker" posted something that didn't make sense that could identify it as a hack. Since this makes sense and is plausible, I'm doubting it was a hacker.

...if it was a hack then they are pretty good. had a 20 minute facebook chat with CG himself last night and he seemed amped about the music TGF will be sharing with us shortly ...as well as there definately being some hostility between themselves (CG, CT, PD and Ed) due to their creative input over the last decade.

You've got to feel for both sides; it could and does happen in every profession, no matter how experienced/successful or whatever you are - you have issues.

i also think everyone needs to vent every now and then. perhaps we need to take a step back from all this LIVE epic-ness and remember that altho they were our band, they're also human beings and go thru shit like we do - and if as CG says all they wanna do is get some ROCK out like they've been dying to do since TDTH, then we should at least let 'em. If that be taking shots at one another - then so be it. They're closer to each other then we all will ever be to any of them, and we have each had a good rant about LIVE in the past and will bitch and moan about them in the future, so maybe we should just let it go and enjoy whatever Ed or TGF has to offer.

that said, not a big fan of SFBM or ed's new stuff either - but will probably buy it to have a listen and am excited about what's gonna come from TGF.

good luck to 'em all.

Like I said, i dont think anyone is disputing the fact CG or any of them can't feel the way they do, but to put it in a public forum reeks of bad taste. You finished that post with "good luck to them all", you'd hope that's what they'd be saying to each other rather than taking pot shots. This sort of stuff somehow seems to cheapen all they've done together, Live were one of the rare bands that seemed to be friends first before a band. I can look back at music by The Smiths and the horribleness of that break up hasn't effected the music at all because they came together specifically to be a band, it was a working relationship. There is a whole different feel with Live and carrying on like this is pretty poor.

Maybe Ed was a total prick and deserves everything CG said, but like I say if you're gonna bring it out in public you gotta be prepared to tell the whole story lest you end up looking like a prick. I'm sure CG could lift the phone to CT and go "lol dude did you see that new Ed song? hahaha" rather than how he did. Of course he has the right to, but he should first consider his own reputation.

Possibly, Ed destroyed Live and the 3 are disappointed and angry. Ed used to wrote great songs but he also wrote much crap in the 2000s. He excluded all the other guys from V, most BoP and SFBM and he wrote Forever as a sample of Live's future sound. The 3 hoped for a turning point but the result was more pop crap. I do not think that Ed has been gracious - it seems that many fans are angry at him for what he has done to Live. Most of us here have been visiting this site because we hope for a turning point towards pure rock but we are still waiting. So, many thanks to the 3 for dissociating Live from pure shit and for the rock they promise.

totally agree. leaves a bad taste and feels sick. i think we're all looking for ways to reason this behavior.

as entertainers followed by millions (if not just us on this board then the lot at SOY too hehe), perhaps coming out officially and saying... ''look, we been together X number of years, we're buds, but at the moment we just can't stand each other, so we're not making music together as LIVE till we sort our shit out and while we're doing that, we're off to play on the internet together. peace!"

that at least would have been appreciated.

for me personally, we're fortunate we have MJ, TC, SS and TDTH and our 100s of bootlegged favourites (along with the odd song here and there from V till SFBM and Paradiso). When we need that fix, it's right here.

maybe this is "their thing", to garner more attention and speculation about the new project. Surely it would make a more interesting music news story with quotes such as CG's twitter than it would be with just a quiet debut from TGF. They could be using this to set the scene for some music, maybe some of the songs will let rip on Ed or the past few years or Live ... CT did say he was a terrible lyrical writer and was glad to have Gavin from Candleboat to help him express himself. So really this could be a marketing move as well .. if so, cheap way of doing things, but could be effective none the less. It could be part of the "we're a hard rock band and don't give a fuck what we say" image.

heh it's funny to look back at the begining of the break up where you had CT daring us to not have any negative thoughts for a day and even though it's CG now, it seems to be a total 180.

I wonder how Pat feels ... he's kept his nose clean of this, the thing is he might feel the exact same way CG feels but because he's not acting a fool online about it I don't feel any differently towards him than I did before. Smart move.

Millions? I am fairly sure Live doesn't have a million fans anymore. Have any of their albums even sold that many copies. Hell, CG only has 450 followers on Twitter even.

I always wonder about the whole "Ed destroyed Live by writing shit and pushing the other guys away" way of thinking. CG, CT and PD are three seperate people. Ed is another. 3 vs 1. Why didn't they stand up and say something. Maybe they did, who knows, but that's what I wonder...

until they actually tell us what happend...really whos cares??...like a soap opera on tv...there was arguments about this and that, different views, dreams, like a marriage, things hardly ever last...when it does come out...we will hear..OMG!!...I told ya so!!...WOW!!...are you kidding me???
....but really...in the end...most of us hold this band VERY HIGH on our list of favorites or we wouldnt be here posting..I respect ALL of them and look forward to hearing all they have to offer...but whatever happened..happened...its over...and like I said...I know we wont see them in 2 years or maybe ever again together...I doubt it..

Haha! I'm not sure, I don't think it even went gold did it?

I think a lot of us need to go watch some behind the music stories about other band breaks. Nearly ALL of them are ugly and I don't think this one is an exception.

Also I do think some of this is marketing. Not saying its GOOD marketing but hell its got all of us talking!

Could it be the same marketing thing as with the latest Depeche Mode's vid then?

Everyone is disgusted, but everyone talks about it?

...ye imagine that! as if it were all a ploy to get record sales up - realising their race was run - releasing a Throwing Copper 15th Anniversary 2 disc edition + DVD with missing remastered and remixed tracks and throwing in outtakes for good measure and on the DVD, the missing Paradiso tracks: Shit Towne, Waitress, DAOC and White, Discussion! Followed by a TDTH 10th Anniversary and LIVE Reunion Tour! ...-dies-
