Just wanted to say that I am in favor of this idea. Wish I had something crazy to offer.

What everyone is hoping for is that someone with something crazy to offer is in favor of this.

With the possiblity of Live being done, it would be a great gesture. Eventually there may not be a place to share it with Live fans.

I like the sentiment behind the idea. Beyond that, unfortunately, there's a lot of us here asking without offering. Like you, I don't think that I have anything rare; I think this site has been absolute gold for throwing up little gems from time to time, like the strings version of Supernatural, the Beer Down recording, the Jet Studios acoustic set. But really, this site and WFG have been the extent of my source of Live mp3s outside of official releases.

Although, I used to have a CD that some beautiful person on FOL posted to me, without asking anything in return. I was a new fan at this point and it seemed like such an honest and generous notion, sharing that music with fans who wouldn't otherwise get to hear it. I know now that most of those tracks were relatively common (ie, had Labour Labour Labour, the loop version of Sun, a Lakini's Juice remix, those kinda things) but one track that I miss dearly was the thunderstorm version of Pillar of Davidson.

I wish that I knew where that cd went. I've turned the house upside down so many times in the last six years looking for it. And, I wish that I had something to share here. I never understood the point of hoarding music.

I haven't had a lot of time to go through old CD-Rs/harddrives/cassettes yet, but just racking my brain, I SHOULD be able to find at least some of the following to share:

- 3 studio versions of Dance With You featuring Anouk (not the same one that's currently floating around)
- Portion - Ordinary
- Portion - Crazy After 3 Days
- Portion - Glue
- Portion - Boredom
- I Alone rehearsals (Ed on home tape recorder - different lyrics than studio version)
- Overcome (WTC Versions 1 & 2)
- Texas Jerry - Suffering

I may have some more, and I'm pretty sure that some of the ones I listed are already available. Please let me know what's not necessary to upload.

I've never heard of most of those...

Yo Swami, can you just release them slowly over time? I'd rather get one a month than 5 right now.

Portion is Adam Kowalczyk's band that he fronted in the mid 90's. They supported Live at a number of shows. CT wears a Portion t-shirt in the video for White, Discussion (colour version)

I'm probably going to be uploading something in the range of 20-25 files, but I really don't want to get anyone's hopes up. Of all the stuff I'm going to be uploading, a fair number of you will probably have already heard. Some of it, I KNOW you have. I might upload most of it right now and worry about the Portion tracks another time since they'd be on cassette (if anywhere), and I'd have to first go through a ton of unlabeled cassettes, then buy a cable to record them onto my PC.

And, sadly, I do not have any "new" Live songs. No songs by Live that you have never heard. It's mostly reworkings of existing stuff. Whatever I can find that's even remotely interesting I'll make sure everyone can hear.

BTW...does the community need a lossless copy of Born Branded?

Expect Swami's Contribution before the weekend smile.gif

Swami,

I would like to say thank you very much. That is very kind of you. Even if they are not new songs they sound very exciting and I would love to hear them. Anything you offer is appreciated.

I wish I could contribute something, but anything off the wall that I may own either came from here. bootleg heaven, or liverockspace - so basically you all have it. For those that are really new, check out the J.Sax thread!
