I would be really excited if it was a LIVE record, considering Harrison has collaborated on their best work in my opinion. But I wish TGF would be be going in a totaly new direction. This is now Live + Lives producer - ED. If the music is going to sound similar to the Harrison material of the past they should just call it Live with Kevin Martin.

Chaf Gracey said at twitter:

"The Gracious Few is not a mixture of two bands but is instead an entirely new animal! Kickass, straight up ROCK!! You all will likey!"

So, i guess we should not expect a TC2 or early Live sound.

true. Then again, Chad T. said they would sound like (fill in a lot of bands.....), but also said 'Old-Live'.

I'm psyched to hear Jerry Harrison back in the picture! So psyched that I'm actually posting again and reading these message boards for the first time in many many months.

I don't expect or want "old Live", but I want the same intensity and feeling. Maybe I'm contradicting myself. I don't expect another Throwing Copper (who would?), but I tend to believe TGF's claims that some really good and inspired music is on the way. I'm very much looking forward to some samples (both TGF and Ed).

Someone needs to tell Ed the same thing.

For what its worth, sometimes you've got to make a little money to get to recording the music. As long as they don't start selling coffee then I'll be happy.

Well it's true. They're hyping this stuff like no tomorrow, like its gonna be the greatest thing, yet we don't even have a song to judge. I hope it lives up to all those tweets.

I am very excited by this news.

I think this news confirms that the reason Live hasn't worked with Harrison in 10 years is due to Ed and him not getting along very well.

It will be very interesting to compare TGF's album to Ed's solo album.

It would be cool if this temporary split makes them that much better if/when they reunite.

I was thinking this before, it's all "spread the word, spread the word!" .. if I tell someone about this band their first question wont be "can i get a signed drum??" it's gonna be "lets hear some of their stuff" ... which we can't help with.

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm sure we will be able to hear some of the new music soon I suppose.

I find it odd that for years we've all clamored to hear something, anything, from the band. Now that they are communicating with us everyone is bitching and moaning about what they are saying.

If you don't want to spread the word then don't spread it. I don't really know what the guys can do other than to ask for that. Its not like they are going to just put out a half-assed demo recording and then say "spread the word!!" based on some shitty sounding demo. These guys are practically starting from scratch and it takes time. You've gotta build the hype somehow.

The difference is that we don't even know what we're promoting, I could spread the word to some people and then when something is released not even like it myself. Best we can do is just tell them this band exists and they say they're good. I'm not a fan of martins voice from what I heard so I'll reserve any word spreading until I know what my own opinion is

Totally agree. We've not even heard a full song yet. They're showing us the wrong goods touting signed merch and so far all I've heard is all hype and bluster with nothing to back it up. "It's going to blow your socks off, trust us!" is all we hear, yet they don't have the self confidence to give us a demo showcasing their musical genis.

It's starting to reek of bullshit to me.
