I got into them in the Throwing Copper era. Several instances of hearing their songs and never once connecting it to being the same band.

Heard AOY being blasted from a guy's parked car as he was cleaning it. I was delivering papers.

Danced to LC at school dances.

Babysitter would play TC in full, but I never asked her what it was until later.

Heard I Alone on the radio. Eventually found out that "Throwing Copper" was done by one band. Bought it on the same day as REM's Monster....and thus began a 13-year collecting obsession......of Live.

All I can say is back in 1993 I walked in to a record store.... a locally owned one... (are there any of those around anymore???)

half hour later I walked out with a purple cassette tape with some (KIDS???) on the cover.....
I was 13.

Didn't even make it to the second side for about 3 weeks I was so in love with it. Sounds silly.... but I got hooked. Still have that cassette tape some where around too.... rockin.gif

Same here... next time don't change the question when you go into the thread hoodie.

What are you talking about. You quote someone else and refer to me?

I clearly stated Selling the Drama and Woodstock '94. I'll spell it out , T-h-r-o-w-i-n-g C-o-p-p-e-r.

I can not fucking believe that I am finally holding TDTH in my hands... Just got it off the local CD store, where I ordered it in November annd they said there was no chance in getting it.

The best rock CD in the history of music... With the best booklet by a perfect band...

My favourite music in the whole universe.

I now possess it,,,...

I was intrigued by Live when first heard Operation Spirit in 91, came back around to being totally hooked by Throwing Copper. Because they were from a shitty little town (but we love it) in PA, like I hail from.....I kept watch on their progress. I dug the sound and message of that album.

Now that being said.....when I got TC, I never took it out of my car for years.......til the car died......had to get more copies for the house. New car, TC back in the CD changer........never leaves.

Same here. Right after I bought Throwing Copper, I saw some stuff on MuchMusic (interviews, a "spotlight", that kind of thing) and went out and bought Mental Jewellery and 4 Songs. I have 2 copies of TC: one for the car and one for the house.
