The End of Live, (at least for the forseeable future) Options

I find myself not caring either way if Live are on hiatus or have split for good.

10 years ago I'd have been absolutely gutted, but all I feel today is indifferent.

I wish them all luck in their musical ventures and will keep an ear out for both Ed and Chad, Chad and Pat's new band. If Live get back together at a later date so be it. If not, it's hardly the end of the world for anybody.

That is exactly how I feel, specially about it being 10years ago. Now I really am indifferent

I am lucky enough to have backstage passes for the show in cleveland and i have an extra, i was going to take my girlfriend but in the current circumstances maybe it would be better if i could possibly hook up with another diehard, she wont mind. So if you are heading to the cleveland show, let me know and i will see if i cant work something out.

I'm going to the show with my friend Aly and while that seems tempting, I couldn't go see the band afterward with her! Pretty much every LIVE show either of us has gone to has been together and every time I've met the band (whether it be a meet and greet or even out on the streets following their set after a Pittsburgh Pirates game), she was right there with me!

This whole thing reminds me of my other favorite band from the 90's, The Catherine Wheel. A little different circumstances since Catherine Wheel was still on a creative high when they went into hiatus in 2000, but a lot of similarities to me. Along with Ed, Rob was one of my favorite singers/lyricists. The bands both rocked and just brought out a ton of emotion for me and really defined the 90's music scene for me.

After disappearing for about 5 years Rob has emerged with a very distinguished solo career, one that satisfies the Catherine Wheel craving for many. It's clearly a solo effort, but stays close enough to the Catherine Wheel sound that I look forward to the day they reunite. It hasn't been ruled out and they are not broken up.

My hope is that instead of what we've heard thus far with Dirty Water, Ed solo will be more like Live solo. Something tells me that is not going to happen, and the Live torch will be carried on by CT, CG, and PD. That's fine too, but I hope both parties don't stray too far for the sake of the selfilsh part of me and my 90's memories.

I'm still waiting for my other fav band System of a Down to get back together ( cause they def suck apart!) and now Live's doing the same shit. Ah well So far Ed's Lotus Flower sucks ass, so I'm hoping the Chads and Pat and that new guy has something much better in store. Crossing my fingers, hoping for tha best.........

Say what you want about Ed, but I think he has handled the break-up the best out of the boys, at least publicly. He hasn't knocked anyone on a tweet, and never mocked a song during a show like the rest did with Forever in Cleveland/NY.

I think you are assuming that the Chads posted that quote in a Tweet as an attack on Ed. No one knows that, and I don't think the Chads have posted anything that can conclusively said to be negative about Ed. They've posted excitement for their new project, but so has Ed. If I wanted I could interpret Ed's excitement over his solo material as a knock on the other guys.

As for the mockery thing, maybe it was mean spirited and maybe they were just having fun. Who knows?

Black Metallic is right up there for me. They have so many great tunes. I also like Crank, and Heal. Wow, there's just so many great ones. Rob has a new solo tune up on his myspace, The End of the World which is really good too. Glad I got to see the Wheel on their last tour. Hopefully they'll be back someday.
