So Nick, to understand this, you like songs about:

- Zion
- Circus Tents
- Biting Dick

Got It! thumbsup.gif

All the negative you picked out from the song occur in one verse. There are 2 others, and an engaging chorus. Tell me you Rise Up, hasn't been stuck in your head all day. We also don't know if the lyrics you translated are 100 percent accurate.

I like the song, you don't, its fine. Just don't act like your opinion is the right one, because people are allowed to think differently.

since when have eds songs been about nanything? I could trivialise the much-loved 90's album quartett MJ-TDTH as songs about:

Puke
churches
placentas
jaws of kali yuga

wow you must really like some gay shit.

anyway im not here to argue, i can totally understand why people dont dig it. I just see it as something really different from someone who is not representing a "rock" band atm, and still singing about stuff that is important to him. Plus it just sounds nice to me kicking.gif

So you think the song is good because only one verse sucks? My have we come to lowered our standards.

There is so much great music out there, why would you waste time with this?

By the way, "Rise Up" is a rip off. It's straight from "My City of Ruins" by Bruce Springsteen!

Just check out this video at the 1:40 mark, or listen to the whole thing to hear a well written song.

While its very arguable that Springsteen's is a much greater song - I actually don't mind Ed's one - I am hoping that he will play an acoustic version of it soon!!!

...of all the people to collaborate with though, didn't see it coming at all...

I think we will going to hear a lot more before Eddie even starts recording (mid September).

"Lots more coming soon, lots of flavors, some familiar, some new...all good wink.gif".

I don't think this is a bad thing. He let his fans hear where he's at now, and also hears what they think about it. I think the end product can be quite different and more perfect.

Listening to the song again, there is definitely potential for a great pop song in there. Also I it would be pretty rocking in concert, with a chorus of Rise Up, Rise Up.

Dude, why do you have to find "potential" in everything this guy does?

This is the worst shit I've ever heard. I turned it off three quarters of the way through. There is no potential here. It's garbage.

If this guy is trying to market himself to the legions of moron who listen to this mainstream pop puke, then I feel sorry for him. He's completely risking the last ounce of artistic integrity he has and it's pathetic. This shit has no artistic value whatsoever and he should be 150% embarassed to lend himself to a heap of trash like this.

Seriously, marketing his kids on coffee mugs and now this? I'm officially NOT a fan of this fucking guy anymore. It's one thing to stray into different areas, but to completely sell out like a Backstreet boy is just utterly ridiculous.

I'm in shock that this guy would do anything even resembling this. WOW.

I just don't know what to say. Eddie K could put shit on a stick and sell it online and you would complement him on how crunchy it was.

Bahahahahahahahahahah, that was one of the funniest things I've ever read on this site!!!! banana.gif

Good is a subjective term. Its a different style of music for Ed, and I can see how many Live fans would reject it. However, others do like the music and can appreciate the vocals.
If Eddie thought this song was going to make the CD cut in this form, he wouldn't have released it for free on his site.

There you go turning your opinion into fact again. People are allowed to like a song, even if you don't. I'd personally much rather listen to any song by written by Eddie Kowalczyk than anything written by Bruce Springsteen. Not saying the guy isn't a talented artist, he's just not my thing.

Right, and because those people like it, doesn't make it good neither. It's trash. Not because I think so, but because it's boring and uncreative. It takes NO MUSICAL TALENT to make sewer shit like that. It is FACT that it's bad music for that reason. Same goes for most pop music nowadays. It's lyrically uninspired and the music itself can be made my a ten year old on a yamaha beat maker.

The lyrics are most all the same and again, could be written by a child in elementary school. You want to like that music?? Good for you. But FACT is, on an artistic scale, it's fucking garbage. Argue it all you want buddy, you're just flat out wrong.
