But in most cases, you'd rather have an artist 100 percent committed to a project, than someone who splits their time. The guys put Live in the rearview mirror to really focus on the new band, its a shame that Kevin Martin isn't doing the same.

I guess time will tell!

where is the facepalm emoticon.

You sure CT is putting 100% into it? He's got that whole movie making thing going, a family, taking a dump here and there. Come on.

And maybe Pat is killing puppies 90% of time with his bass. ( seeing as we have no word from him, I just assume that)

and again, we already established that you don't want Kevin in this band, so no need to add fuel to the fire.

From a music standpoint, the 3 guys from live are giving it their all with this project. They aren't splitting their time with another band, otherwise we would still have Live.

So who's fault is that? CT CG PT's or Ed's or Kevin Martin's? You are now drifting from the point.

But whatever. How about we wait till we hear the album, or at least the first song. I'm open for it. But I doubt you will have anything positive to say no matter what it sounds like. Because again, you are still crying over that Live is split. (forever or for while)

oh and I laugh at your "from a music standpoint" line. For you have no concept of what music is, let alone what it takes to create music. (you said that yourself many a time)

Well, Nick, where did you take this information from? Did you call Chad? Or did Gracey tell you at yer last meet-n-greet that they are splitting forever because Pat's ego is taking over Adam Kowalczyk?

More news and logical thoughts to come, I suppose?

Well, I've a been a digesting Candlebox on the old YouTube. Couldn't pull anything positive out of that experience to be honest, but I'll go with the flow and keep an open mind about the collaboration. As long as the two Chads and Pat plus Kevin Martin don't end up sound like CandleLive, it could be interesting.

I've decided that I will give Kevin Martin a chance to lead our guys. I know the members of Live are super-talented and will put together a rocking CD. KM was one of the most talented frontman that I've seen in concert, and it makes me think this pairing could actually work.

I have also come to terms that Eddie and the band aren't in competition with each other. Having two acts to follow is actually a win for fansoflive. No matter why Live has broken up, and the stories are clearly conflicted, it has happened. It has been hard for me to accept, but there is no alternative.

So let's bring on both projects. I am expecting great music from both sides, and wish success for all involved.

The Chads and Pat have been anxiously waiting on this, I'm sure they'll be glad to get the go ahead! lol.gif

Seriously, glad you're coming around. I don't think most of us see the two bands as being competitors, after all they are very clearly going for different markets. The last thing I want to see is this board taking sides.

I definitely think you should check out Kevin Martin and the Hiwatts for an idea of what this guy can do. While there are similarities to Candlebox it is a very different album because he wrote it all himself (not co-written like most of the Candlebox songs). I also think its a good indicator of what he is capable of in a different band.

Lastly, for what its worth, when I met Kevin after a show he was by far one of the friendliest and outgoing entertainers I've had the opportunity to meet. He also posts rather frequently on the Candlebox boards, even so far as responding directly to criticism. There aren't a ton of posts per day (its about like it is here) but I still think that is pretty neat that he takes the time to do it.

I think this combination is going to produce some damn fine rock tunes, and given that Live and Candlebox were my favorite bands for a very long time this is like a dream for me.
