I couldn't make it through the whole song and I'd like to forget what I did hear. Is this what it's come to? Trying to pick out positives like the vocals are good or I like the lyrics. Seriously? Come on Man!

I think its "the gospel in the churches" but I only listened to the song once.

I'll take your word on it, I'm not listening again. It's not perfect but it's close.

If this is the sound of the album then I'm really losing interest. He doesn't have the music to back him up (godman reference) and his lyrics are straight out of the dumpster behind Denny's.

I was going to say at least its not straight acoustic, but that proabably would be better.

Two songs about Zion. The album is probably called "Return To Zion". I still hope it rocks, but all I have is hope.

I am looking forward to the CT, CG, PD, Martin project. From the sample's I've heard I'm interested.

Unfortunately its become so bad, and we love their music so much, we have to search for the positives to defend it!

I actually like the lyrics and the song quite a bit. Ed's voice also is in top form, but I think he needs to stop mentioning Zion. It was in three of the last five songs he's written.

This song will not be on the new album in this form. He's recording the new album in September. Last I checked this is still July. Also, he wouldn't release a brand new album track before the entire recorded was even recorded or had a label. It wouldn't make sense.

It's better than SFBM, at the very least. And while I don't think the lyrics are great, they seem to have more effort than most of his recent lyrics (also, if it didn't say child of Zion and such, it could be viewed as an anti-religion song).

I get the vibe that Ed's head is in the right place from a creative stand point, he's just not executing very well. Electronic beats, flute solos, these things are different, just the music not really my style. And not the style of many others here, it seems. We need some rock. I'm not sure if flutes can rock, but many other instruments can.

Hopefully Ed learns a little from this song and refines his creative acts. His vocals are awesome in this song, so there's a plus.

I hope he continues to incorporate new instruments, but in a more rocking way. Though I don't really dig the song, it actually makes me rather curious as to what he'll pull out next.

BTW, sounds a lot like Forever. And he needs to quit with the whole Zion thing.

I like the music, but my musical tastes are far different then many of ya'll I'd imagine. smile.gif Lyrically it's trying too hard, at least in my mind. It's like Ed tried really hard to make a statement about life today but could only get three verses out and just repeated them over and over hoping to hammer in some meaning. It's stuck between being just a quirky little song that's just there to be quirky and a song that's actually trying to say something. As it is now its a quirky song that should have only lasted 2 minutes and instead was left on repeat until five and a half minutes were recorded. I think Ed would need to add something more lyrically to this song for it to be good.

As far as the register Ed's in, I'm glad he seems to be sticking in his mid range which sounds much more comfortable to the listener then the falsetto he really fell in love with a few CDs back. Falsetto's nice to add something extra to a song but very very few male vocalists can get away with it dominating the vast majority of their CDs and Ed ain't one of them.

Listening to the song again, there is definitely potential for a great pop song in there. Also I it would be pretty rocking in concert, with a chorus of Rise Up, Rise Up.

I just don't know what to say. Eddie K could put shit on a stick and sell it online and you would complement him on how crunchy it was. I don't know what this guy could do to get under your skin.

This song fucking blows!

And Ed - Fuck singing about Zion! I hope it drowns in your 50 songs with water references and then Chad, Chad, and Pat blow the place up!

So Nick, to understand this, you like songs about:

- Zion
- Circus Tents
- Biting Dick

Presuming this is a demo rather than a full song, there are elements from it that I like and it could polish up into something I want to listen to more than twice. At least it sounds nothing like Live. I think it's been obvious since V that he's been bursting to go in a different direction and the other guys haven't.
