How many times do we have to go through this shit with Live? Is this their fault? It just seems that EVERY TIME they ever release an album or a single its ass backwards to what should be done. We all thought that Geffen was bad. Hell Sony is worse. Whether we like this new material or not I think that we can all agree that some of it (The River, Mystery) could be successful on Hot AC radio, but once again nobody will ever hear it. At least not in the U.S. Why make a video if it will never get played? Why delay the album over and over again? Why release the album overseas at an earlier date then in the U.S.? This shit is just ridiculous.

I think its becoming apparent that Sony has not invested much in Live. It was probably a small 1 or 2 record deal worth not much money. For Live it was probably viewed as a chance to rebound, hence the unusually busy touring schedule. Not it seems Sony is backing out of the support....maybe cutting their losses on the signing.

Also, I believe Sony/Epic changed presidents after they had already signed LIVE. Maybe the new guy wasn't ready to invest in the band. It really is a shame because The River and Mystery had hit written all over them. This album may not appealed to all older Live fans, but there was definitely an audience for it in the US. Sadly, SFBM may never get the chance to reach its full potential.

LIVE could be at a serious crossroads....whatever anyone in Epic thinks....the blame falls to them. They had hit songs in their laps and they may have blown it.

Why in the world would Live be at a cross roads as a band? As long as they enjoy making music they should keep doing so, regardless of audience size. If they started going "oh well, we're not gonna hit the big time again, might as well decided to pack it in guys" then that would be pretty pathetic and as much as I dislike the new material my faith in Live hasn't quite fallen to the point where I believe that is the case with them.

Ed was really hyped about the prospects of this album. I just hope this doesn't cause him to lose faith. He still has fans out there.......just find a way to get the music to us smile.gif

Oh well, if he loses faith he might be promted to actually write some awesome material. Seems his angst makes for a better song than his love afair with love.

Maybe, but it's the correct opinion smile.gif

Seriously though .. Friends of Live have been pretty quick to update about release date changes and all and as of now they still have May 9th listed .. so who knows, you might be worrying yourself for nothing.

From what I've heard, I guess the US release will never happen. Oh well.

Now if Epic chooses to not release in the states, can another label release the album? Or does it shelve forever? If Epic indeed shelves it, we need to revolt and revolt hard.

I heard there are release problems overseas(Holland, Australia) too. No one knows when it or if it is coming out. I am waiting for a press release.....hopefully tomorrow.

I'm done if we don't hear something from Sony or FOL soon. This is beyond ridiculous.

SFBM is already in the shops here in Holland and SonyBMG is promoting Live really well (see also Dans topic on the press coverage). If SFBM will not be released in the US that's truly sad but it doesn't affect Live in the rest of the world, at this point.

its getting pretty good airplay down here. I hear it in the morning and in the aftternoon all at prime times and they play snippets of ed between songs sometimes "hey this is ed kowalchyzk from live you're listening to blah blah blah". It's at about 33 on the ARIA singles chart in it's second week so thats not bad. TC took a year to get to the top and SFBM isnt even out yet. Chill the fuck out.
