Wow, three pages of people bitching about Kevin Martin and we heard not a note from him in this new band.
Premature ejaculation must run rampant for some.

In Kevin's words: FUCK YOU! I don't want it no moreeeee!

As I told Dan on AIM, I'm like a divorced child meeting his new stepdad. I'm going to need time to accept this......

Not disagreeing with you, but....stepdads suck. 5-day dads just suck.

Incidentally, I'm thinking of creating a new band. Its name will be a mash between the emo-indie group Taking Back Sunday and the running joke in Clerks 2:

Who wants to play an instrument for Taking Back Porchmonkey???

I bought Candlebox best of some days I ago. It has some good songs but I got tired of it already because it suffers the same problem as many bands do – lack of variation. I hope that Chads and Pat will make the difference.

Awright. Guys. We still have no official confirmation I figure. If Kevin spread word on his new project with the guys, then be it. But you never know. What if he sings a backing vocals for 1 song and the new singer is... I dunno... Lenny Kravitz... or Anthony Kiedis.

Sure, I am just goofing around. Pretty much STILL can not decide whether I enjoy this choice or not. Martin's voice for me is a bit weaker than his stage presence, if those two can be compared to say the least. His voice is very good, still bringing back the memories about hairy 80s to some extent. That said, I really LOVE the music by Candlebox and think that the voice does not suit the tunes 100%. Strange feelings really. Psyched up to see the new band anyway.

Was Ed your former Daddy? He must've not figured out a way to write you into the lyrics for Heaven.

"I don't need no one... to tell me bout Heaven"
"I love at Nick and my Daughters... and I believe"

LOL!!

You hit the nail on the head. I was really disappointed in the CD because after a bit, it all sounded the same.

To a degree that's not something worth considering though. I've had people say Live sounds all the same, same with other bands. TO A DEGREE, if you don't really want to like the band, it can all sound the same to you.

Just sayin'. And plus, this won't be Candlebox, this will be DALHEIMER.

Actually, if you sit down and listen to Candlebox' self-titled album and then the follow-up Lucy, you'll realize how ridiculous of a statement that is. The two albums are like night and day. If you just want to base your opinion off the greatest hits CD then you are missing a lot of their music.

Honestly Live has made so many songs that are incredibly similar that this whole discussion is really funny to me. Have you heard Stage and Bring the People Together? Or Like A Soldier and Rivertown? Live aren't exactly the kings of variation either.

I'm not a huge fan of his.

Like I said earlier, they should pull a Santana and have guest vocals from different people on every track and then use Kevin for a tour.

That could be a sweet album!!!

I seriously doubt that the guys had a million different vocalists beating down their doors to sing on this album...

I do like the idea of having guest vocalists. Something for everybody. But yes, it would be hard for them to get that many guests.

And there is at least one person here who would hate every single one of them!
