QUOTE(Merica @ Jul 20 2009, 4:55 pm) *

But when Chad Taylor posts "Live is not dead – it’s on vacation" - what else can he mean? Live is not dead/over/done forever, just on vacation/taking time off/on a break.

Seems simple enough to me.

If you were going on vacation, would you use terms like "Grand Finale"
If you were going on vacation, would you say "Hold on to those ticket stubs"

If it was a "vacation" there would be no Grand Finale or Valuable Last Concert ticket stubs [not that the stubs would actually be valuable]

So many people are in denial it's quite amusing.

So many people are so smug, it's quite ugly.

If you need to convince everyone of how sure and over the "official end" of Live you are, then by all means, continue to flaunt yourself.

Dear +LIVE+ fans (I am one of them),

Related to the commotion about +LIVE+:

As the people of Russia have proven in the past and present:
Time will learn and heal all wounds.
Keep in memory the good moments (and there are many), keep in mind the friends we all made and keep on living.

Share your +LIVE+ thoughts with us !

We will meet again.
Let music rule --> good and maybe even better (but different) music will be made.

I'm not sure of anything. The denial rests in the people that think, CT's blog, despite the obvious contradictions, couldn't possibly in anyway shape or form be a sort of politically correct formality and that the end of Live could NOT have just occurred.

I could see it going either way. I won't argue a definite, but I damn will argue against a definite, especially when there are gaping holes the size of our solar system in the "official story".

Semi-drunk. Can't be bothered to focus on so many characters. But, if we lose this band, we must accept that it had to happen eventually. Maybe a bit soon for some, but we did get 8 full albums (including TDOAD) out of them, and 20 years of memories. I don't think they owe us any favours.

I was on my way back home from a long day earlier tonight. Something made me throw Live MTV Unplugged on my Ipod in the car. I sang my heart out to every single word. The set they played that night in Brooklyn (and the way they played it) was pure music bliss...

I've been singing (and playing) my heart out with this band for most of my life. And I guess I have to just keep on doing that with the memories and the music they have left us.

Ah, hell...even though they haven't been making the best music over the last several years, they were still my band, you know? I'm pretty sad about this break-up or whatever you want to call it. I guess it ends a "long run" for me on a personal level, just like it ends a long run for CT and the others.

You know what? I'm going to have a strong drink to that one...

Amen to absolutely every word you wrote.

I think the band is done, as I'm sure most of us do. Not a sad time. Just an appropriate time.

Well said, old friend.

I also wanted to say thanks to NectarDan, Nick, and Jimmy Lang for all they have done for the fan community. You guys are the best!

I just started tripping out thinking waaaaaaayyyy back when SOY was just an email sent out weekly with everyone's thoughts. Does anyone remember that??? Those were the days....

Thank you, but without Dangum doing a heavy load of the techincal work, this site would have been long dead.

My money is that we will be seeing a Live show within the next 3 years.

Live used to be my favourite band in the 90s'. I was thrilled by their music and it's still good to listen to their MTV Unplugged/Throwing Copper/Secret Samadhi CDs again.

I don't see their break-up as a negative thing.
Ed is doing well with his acoustic/solo tour (even if I don't think Zion or Believe are good) and the rest of the band has now a real opportunity to show their creativity (since "The distance to here" or maybe "V", Live was more Ed writing songs and the rest of the band following...).

I do think that break-up can bring some positive things to everyone.

Dangum is the man.

Without a doubt, Live will be touring in three summers and working on a new album.

Hold on to your recording of Believe though because I think it's going to end up being a lost track since it won't be part of any writing cycle.
