Anyone like this band the way I do. I know this is a stretch on this site being that a lot of their music is considered Death Metal. But with each newer release they progress and have a lot more to offer. As in no death growls and nice singing and great acoustic guitars. Their Damnation album is all clean vocals (which are beautiful) and acoustic guitars.

I've sort of skirted round Opeth. They have the same management (Northern Music) as InMe whom I adore (and are nothing like Opeth at all) and I'm pretty sure Mikael Akerfeldt in particular is good friends with Ville Valo from HIM whom I also adore. I think he has a wonderful voice full of soul nd honesty, epsecially on Porcelain Heart. I really like the music, but I just haven't got the attention span for songs averaging 8 minutes right now - maybe in the future this is a band I'll really get into.

And on a totally facile note, the band's logo is pretty damn nice as well. Delicate but stark and heavy at the same time. A bit like the band.

Fuck me but Burden just came on on my shuffle and it kicked my ass again. That mellotron solo is so awesome.

And of course:

Darkness by her side
Spoke and passed her by
Dedicated hunter
Waits to pull us under rockin.gif

Ok, if they're not growling anymore I will check them out again. Good to know. I have one of their cds, to be honest I don't know what its called, I LOVED the music, but couldn't get past the growl. Thanks for the info.
