I've been in Hawaii for the last 2 weeks on vacation, so needless to say I was totally suprised by all of the Live news when I returned.

I was especially suprised by this quote:

Just a reminder of whats to come from the new band with PD, CT and I. (Ramius is not the new singer! haha) ♫ http://songtwit.com/?23T
9:38 AM Jul 7th from web

Did anyone else check out this song or know any more about the new band?

I would seriously doubt that Ramius is the name of the new band. I'd think the guys are smarter than that.

When you go to the track that's how it's listed.

Regardless,

Did anyone check out the song. I've been saying for a while that Ed is stuck in a rut with his lyrics and creativity. If the band and Ed go seperate ways I'd be interested to see which way Live fans would lean towards if they were making a choice.

I'd actually be really interested to see what they guys are able to do without Ed. I personally think he's been holding them back creatively for a while.

CG did say that the sean connery vocal sample isn't part of the song and was added for "effect" .. I dunno, I kinda like it .. it's just something different. Couldn't imagine a live song past or present sampling sean connery.

Thank god Hoodstock is back though to create brand new threads instead of joining in the discussions on the current threads!

If you put Ramius into a google search, you will find that its a global investment firm.

www.ramius.com

I'd hope they are smarter than to pick a band name with a domain already sold and in use. The mistakes of picking "Live" must be corrected with the new band.

You think about marketing and sales way too much.

Marko Ramius is character played by Sean Connery in the film "The Hunt for Red October". That's his voice you hear being played over the top of the 30 sec sample that Chad Gracey uploaded.

The band will not be called Ramius

Did someone manage to listen to the mp3's that Chad put online? Aside from the podcast 01.mp3 there were 9 others, in the subfolder 'demo's', and those all sounded like new demo's of the new work. http://carsonslovak.com/studio/clients/chad/ doesnt list the demo folder anymore now too bad, guess it wasnt supposed to be accesible for the public yet? I listened to all the tracks earlier today, and I must say: awesome Chad!!! Can't wait to hear what's next.

That's very cool - nice find! Were they full tracks or just samples?

as far as I could hear those were demo's of full tracks (they all were a few minutes), but(!) I think it was only Chad's work, cuz it was totally guitar based. No drums or bass yet, but different guitar layers over each other.

Maybe 'the man himself' can give us an update about the work? thumbsup.gif

I'm happy to see the enthousiasm of the Chads and Pat (well I don't know about him but let's suppose yes). It will be good to see the music skills that the 3 guys will show to us, particularly Taylor. We know how Pat can play and Chad G. is an good ok drummer. But I hope Chad will be better than in the solo of Believe.

The clip we heard looks promising. So yes I'm in to follow the guys!
