Great that he updated that, guess some people need to hear it from the horses mouth .. now lets see Nick try to read between the lines and look for all the pot shots at ed in that blog that aren't there.

Frankly, for the amount of love (and money!) we've put into this band, we deserve a better, more complete explanation as to why this is even happening in the first place.

Chad's posted a new blog entry that might answer some of our questions...

Chad's update is the post that I believe many of us have been waiting for. I support both Ed's solo stuff and the new band. Thanks, Chad for hashing things out. Personally, I appreciate your honesty and passion. You are the man! smile.gif

I too missed the creative input of CT, CG and PD lately, but I totally agree with the posts above that it's unfound and sometimeses quite rude to blame Ed for this. Especially because no one knows what the exact reasons may be. That being said, I'm happy with CT's new blog. This gives a good description of what's going on.

Live is not dead – it’s on vacation. There is no replacing a friendship that has lasted for more than 30 years! Ed will always be THE ONLY SINGER in LIVE. PERIOD.

whoever the other 3 will work with, it has nothing to do with LIVE.

Ed has been one of my closest friends since kindergarten and I will not tolerate abusive posts aimed at him (or any other band mate).

There's nothing between the 4 going on. They give each other some space. And if I understand it correctly, it's only to make LIVE in the future more creative or at least better. If that's the way to do it, taking a break is the most awesome thing to do now at the moment, although I will miss their shows in coming years.

While I'm very glad that CT made that post, something still doesn't make sense. If you need a break, time away from the bandmates that you're constantly on the road with, then why do you start a new band with 3 of the 4 guys? If its about growing individually and musically outside of +live+ then why start a"live-lite"band who will sound like early live and be composed of 75% of live members.

Don't get me wrong I do look forward to the material from this new band, I'm just not sure if a portion of CTs blog was more than just a politically correct formality. I do support the guys in all their endeavors.

Exactly what I was thinking. Chad said that the band wore out from touring together constantly, yet Chad is planning a tour with his new band which is pretty much Live minus Ed.

The tweets earlier this week were definite shots at Ed, Pokey. He didn't let the other band members give enough input from a creative standpoint, and they became fed up. Anyone who thinks differently needs to take the blinders off.

Gracey, Taylor, and Pat are taking a "hiatus" from Ed. If their new band becomes successful, do you think they will run back to Eddie and allow their creativity to be hindered again? Let's be serious.

I'm goin to support the new band and Ed's solo project to my fullest extent. I'm really excited for the new music. However, I'm calling a spade a spade.

In summary:

-Live was stagnant from a creative standpoint. Band members became unsettled.

-Ed is happy doing his solo thing.

-Taylor, Gracey, and Pat are happy to have creative freedom with a new band and singer.

-Live is calling this a hiatus, just in case this new arrangment does not work out in the long run.

-Either way, a reunion show or tour is likely to happen in the future. New Live record, much more uncertain.

lol Nick knows Chad better than Chad knows Chad.

He sounded more like he was just happy to be back in the creative process, it doesn't have to be a jab at someone. But then again, you know best smile.gif

bomb.gif AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CANNOT STAND TWITTER??? I mean, the mear mention of the word "tweet" makes me sick. Narcisistic people love to believe that the rest of us sit with bated breath waiting to find out when the writer is going to pee. I can care less ab out peoples thoughts once their eye's open in the morning.

With that being said, I spent one minute looking at ed's twitter page only for the purpose seeing his perspective of LIVE's break. Has that man LOST his mind? I mean really has he???????? The page I read sounds as if he is gone.........

Just my opionion. However, I am not foolish enough to believe that many of you have been waiting for it.

The band is done. Its over. I will cherish the music, memories, etc. Still see Ed's solo work when I can, and will give the "Un named" new band a chance.

I don't know I have mixed feelings. I am Older (39). Been a fan from the begining.
I look towards other music, specifically Blue October to feel the void.
