The End of Live, (at least for the forseeable future) Options

I thought Candlebox rocked back in the day, debut self-titled album was quite a solid 1993 rocker, though I've sort of lost them after that, and I've no idea how the next albums sounded like.

Based on that memory, I don't see (Gracey + Taylor + Pat) + (Candlebox vocals) as an odd marriage, not at all.

I'm a HUGE fan of Candlebox's first album, as well as their newest album, Into The Sun. When I found out that there was even a rumor of Kevin Martin singing with CT, PD and CG, I got really excited.

All 4 of those guys like to play rock music, so what's not to like? The sneak peek drum intro that CT posted a few days ago was rockin' badass (that's the most rockin' drum fill since Still Aroused or the end of Sparkle), so I have high hopes. It's the ROCK that we've wanted since TDTH was released and I think that Taylor and crew will deliver.

Giel Beelen (Ducth radio DJ) called with Ed today or yesterday. He talked about his motivations to not include te band on this tour, which caused Giel to ask him "Is it a money thing???"

I didn't mean to imply necessarily that it is a step down in talent, just a very different use of that talent. Candlebox/the Hiwatts have always been about showcasing drums and guitar along with the voice, while Live has always been about rhythm and the sound the band makes together. My point was that it is a very different style.

Pat on bass is certainly a step up, as long as he really gets to bring it.

Taylor and Gracey specifically have very unique sounds, but they don't match the intricate musicianship of Candlebox' drummer and guitarist. That is not saying they are "better" just saying that what they play is technically much more impressive, and this is coming from someone who has been influenced a lot by Gracey on drums.

I know what you mean and I agree. But my point is that the realm of LIVE has inhibited Gracey especially. Just from the snippet put up on their twitter, you can hear a huge difference. I think chads creativity on his throne is going to take off big time outside of LIVE.

Mark my words, what you hear from Gracey in the future will be MUCH more impressive than what he was able to show with LIVE. Watch and see.

I'm with ya guys on that. Already mentioned that the drum clip was awesome. I think we will have a lot of old Live fans come out of the woodwork for this one. I can see a lot of us (ones that were on the "negative" side about recent Live music) getting excited about this project.
