jesus, im gone for a week and the Live universe unravels.

What the heck is all this talk about it being a positive thing that the band members move in different directions for a while? Its good for them? They need creative space?

Fucking hell. Most of us work mind-numbing, tedious jobs for our entire lives where creativity is rewarded with this face angry.gif

these guys have THE best job in the world. They get to create. They get to translate the world we live in through a powerful and stimulating medium. And they have done it from the beginning as +Live+. And nobody does it with more passion and inspiration than Live. And they're bored with it?

Have they become disenchanted by the growing criticism from their fanbase? If so, then we need to remind them of how important they are to us. Because they are. New lead singer??? WTF? This is the guy who wrote lightning crashes for crying out loud. Are we a little nuts this week?

What if i go the way of billie jeans lover in the next two years? Then i'll never see the world through the eyes of Live again. That would be a profound disaster. We all have "boyhood ambitions" but these boys are best at speaking to the soul. There is only one +Live+

You sort of answered your own questions here ... they have freedom we don't have, they have opertunities we don't have open to us. Why limit your creativity to one band/group? I totally understand where they're coming from. You can say they should be thankful for the position they're in and crying bored is an insult to us but honestly, if you were in their shoes and had opertunities to persue other avenues you're interested in would you not take it?

To me I think the creative juices have been running dry the last few years, at least in this format. Time away from the Live world could revitalise them. It's not some band that met when they were 25 through friends of friends and such who go on hiatus and may not come back .. Live is totally different in that they've been friends their whole life and I believe theres no fear in them not reuniting again.

Like Creed:

The other three band members grew tired of the lead singers ego, formed a new band with a new lead singer.

If that's the path Live goes, its all very similar to what happened with Creed. The only difference is that even though Ed gets messed up on stage, he still performs his butt off.

Where did this Candlebox rumor start?

I still wonder what will happen with Believe .. if Ed's solo album is going to just be him acoustic then I can't see it turning up on that and if Live aren't planning to do any recording for another 2 years then I doubt this song will still be something they want to do then .. shame if it doesn't get a release.
Something cool would be Live coming together every few months and doing a song or two and just releasing it digitally, no album for awhile but maybe a string of "singles".

Do you think Eddie's album will end up being acoustic, or will he get a back-up band in there? I think if the entire album was just Ed and a guitar, it may get old pretty fast. Maybe I'm wrong.

As for Believe, it was recently cut out of the Live shows and could be done. Check back in a few years and see, I suppose smile.gif

from Chad's twitter;

"Rock N' Roll music, the name and project details to follow in the next few weeks - and a tour too! Tell you friends - tell your brother and sister and parents. Tell the family pet. Tell Tony Hawk. Tell Obama. Tell Shaq....there is a new sheriff in town. GO!!"

So a tour must mean a new singer/band name. All this while Eddie is on tour solo. I wonder what the new name will be. Alter Bridge is already taken! Yikes this is getting worse by the minute!

so CG, PD and CT gonna tour together? making new music together? When, how, what kind of music?

So the only difference with Live is that we now have double so much shows? Both Ed solo, and CT/CG/PD solo shows? Maybe one can be the others support act??

lol.gif

Btw, I still think it's really going to be the three of them. No singer. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

Would have to have backing instruments for me. Acoustic sounds great as an alternative but not the main product. Not enough depth or elements to really sink your teeth into in my opinion to keep a long lasting energy. Too much of the same sonically.

There's a real art, though...

+1

Music without words can stimulate limitless thoughts and emotions.

Probably not their cup of tea as Live, but then, they used to be a band who reinvented themselves with every album.

So, even with Ed around (he can play the guitar anyway), such a concept for a future album would be very interesting.
