And I'm all for this break, by the way. I think it will be brilliant for them to explore other shit and then come back all fresh. The new album would be full of thought, fresh experience and wonderment, I'm sure.

thechadtaylor....we won't do touring or an album for at least 2 years. I need some time for the other projects. Then again, you never know.

2 years?? That's a serious break! Didn't see that comin, actually I was thinking about a 1 year break, OR a break without anouncing an end. Whatever. At elast it's not a BREAK UP.

Ohw and I'm sure they make an exception for Holland once in a while talktohand.gif

Who told you that? If true, he's not a bad choice at all.

I'd say not true, seeing as Taylor is Facebooking/Twittering that HE wants time out to do other stuff. Seems like everybody fancies a little time off.

Does anyone else find it funny that their latest single is titled "Forever?"

Seriously, this is not a horrible thing. They'll recharge their batteries. They'll get back together. And it will be business as usual... whether or not *that* is a good thing is yet to be determined seeing as how it's been 10 years since the band as a whole has really impacted the albums that have been coming out. Not that there hasn't been some good stuff here and there.

If you've paid close enough attention, this on-again, off-again has been Live's MO for a while now. It's part of their pattern. No biggie. They just never "twitted" about it before. God only knows the shit that Ed and Chad would have each posted if Twitter was around earlier in the decade.

If you think about it, they usually take 2-3 years between albums anyway. Certainly, you can make the argument that they sound like they are actively taking time away from LIVE completely and not really writing music for the band, etc, but guys, think about it...they've been together for 25 years. This shit happens in music and in life in general. I'm not psyched about them taking a "longer" break than normal, but this far into the game, I kind of expect it. I was just worried that they are breaking up, and that obviously does not seem like the case.

Best part is that anything they decide to do individually allows me the opportunity to digest and support their other projects. Call me biased, but I'll be happy to hear/see a project from any of these guys.

I'm fine with them exploring different musical outlets if they want, all positive stuff and a break although unwanted would be completely understandable. If the rest of the band is going do shows with a different singer while Eddie is on tour singing Live songs then something is seriously up and that would be indeed a sad day for us diehard Live fans.

Two years seems like a long time to me (big sigh) I guess they need a well deserved break!

I truly doubt we'll see a replacement singer...If anyone it should be Adam, but I doubt that as well. I just believe they are all just taking a much deserved break and it should be left at that.

I would bet anything that Live never performs with another singer. If the rest of the band performs with Candlebox's singer, it would likely be all new songs and under a name other than Live. If this is all on Ed, which I don't think it is, you have to wonder what the fuck he's doing. This is the man who wrote V, BOP and fucking SFBM, and they still didn't ditch him then. If whatever he did this time is bad enough to make them quit on him, it must have been really bad.

That said, I think this is a mutual decision by everyone in the band. Unfortunately, I do think this is probably the end. I doubt they will retire after some crappy shows in Cleveland and NY, so there will probably be some farewell shows someday, but I would be shocked if there is ever any more new music or significant touring. I think this is basically it.

I somehow think that we will receive an EddieK solo album with th eband backing him up. it will be simply called a SOLO recording. And that is it.

If it all goes well, i am all for it. I will support the band with any decision they make. they are simply sometimes much more to me that my closest friends are.
