EDDIEKLIVELive is not breaking up. We're not boyfriends and girlfriends lol. Creatively moving around in different spaces...all good.

Translation:
Of course we aren't technically breaking up, we just aren't working together on music anymore. I'm with my solo career, and they are doing whatever it is they do.

Not all that promising if you are a fan of Live, if you ask me.

lol this is great. What do you expect Ed to say? It's obvious Live doesnt have any concrete plans at the moment and that for at least Ed and Taylor they have Live on the backburner at the moment to focus on other things ... they're allowed to do this. When a band has been together as long as Live it'd only be natural to want to explore other avenues too whilst they're still feeling youthful and vibrant.

However on the other end of the scale I heard Ed burnt an effigy of the other 3 lads on stage at his last gig, so who knows!

Let me answer for Nick:

"So why did Chad break this news on his own? Why didn't live create a joint Twitter account to say this. It seems like Chad is acting out and speaking on behalf of the others when we don't REALLY know if that's how everyone feels. Something seems off to me, armageddon is nigh, record sales, popularity .. something about radio play"

Chad means that if they wouldn't do the things they do (or going to do, like side projects), the music of Live would suffer from it. If that's what they feel right now, it's good to let the band rest for some time. thumbsup.gif GO Chad!

First Jon and Kate and now this!

Seriously, I think this actually getting a little wierd. Eddie and Chad seem to be explaining and rationalizing what's going on. Perhaps they didn't "break up" like boyfriends and girlfriends, but it seems that they are saying that they are all turning and walking away from Live for some indefinite period of time. The music is going to suffer if they don't... they are moving in other creative circles... The band will always be there for them... Whatever. Something is going on here. It looks like Live is not going to be together for some undeterminable period of time and it doesn't sound like there are any current plans to schedule some studio time and resume recording and touring. Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that Eddie was writing music for Live and now they are all taking time off? Chad is talking about his "next band". I'm probably reading to much into this, but something seems a little wierd.

And by the way, to everyone attacking Nick and shutting down threads in certain message boards and calling names and making fun of those who want to discuss this... just what exactly is a message board that is dedicated to a certain band supposed to be for?!?! We're not allowed to even discuss this? Seriously? The twitters and recent solo pursuits of Eddie and brand new Eddie persona are all novel developments that can potentially shake things up a bit. I honestly can't understand why some people whine that no one should even discuss the possible implications! That mysitifies me. It's like a bunch of children in denial that mommy and daddy might get a divorce. It can't possibly be true so let's not even talk about it! Get a grip.

Well in a sense it could be really good for them to pursue other artistic outlets. Take a long break from Live. Can't get any worse seeing the creative decline this band has been having for the last 10 years. So doing other things might spark new ideas and new ambitions for a good Live album down the road.

On another note, has Chad Gracey or Pat or even Taylor ever even play in other bands? Just jams and stuff? I think it would do well for them (specially Gracey) to step out of the comfort zone in Live and try jamming out with other musicians, push the limits, play a different style. (preferably Metal in my eyes) Imagine Gracey throwing down some double bass and blast beats. Or off the wall trippy proggy stuff. If that wouldn't spark new ideas and skills to incorporate in a new Live album nothing may.

Just throwing out ideas folks.

And if they do break up, well personally I don't really care. They had a good run and can be proud of what they have achieved.

p.s. Fishoutawater is right about discussing shit. It is a forum after all.
Perhaps the lot of ya would like the thousandth thread on: "what's ur favourite LIVE song lolroxzors!!11", or "what is your favourite Ed (oops Eddie K) look , ya he's so hot lol i wub him teehhee ee!!1"

Well you can always have hoodstock make some.

Exactly, no need to be in denial. All this 'we're breaking up' stuff is a facade anyway. They aren't splitting. The band are just trying to trick us as they have actually recorded a record ten times the magnitude of Throwing Copper, which is threatening to push the Earth of its axis, and Ed's twitter account stops us from taking time to really figure out what's going on. Right?

what? Ed, and after that Chad said, in a funny way (probably because the rumours surprises them) that there's no break up or anything coming, and you still saying: 'THERE MUST BE SOMETHING GOING ON'. yeah, but to quoate Chad himself:

QUOTE
thechadtaylorThat creative cycle has existed since the beginning of the band-we have always made albums, toured and taken time to live life.

let them have their lives, why immediately worrying and saying Live's done? I guess you people would have worried like this since 1991, if there would have been twitter in 1991. Only difference is you can see what they're doing now every day.

I don't mind people discussing Live splitting up, but it's just nonsense. Even when bandmembers say the opposite, those quotes are used to say: you see, they quit! they only say it to fool us". Weird world tongue2.gif

Chad Taylor ....we won't do touring or an album for at least 2 years. I need some time for the other projects. Then again, you never know.

Main thought... will this board survive that long?
