i think that, if i am not mistaken, those frontment who decided to go solo were at the peak of the career as bands, if not number one they were close. If Ed is going solo now it is like he is starting a completely new career as a completely new artist, he is not famous in the market, not any more at least. I do not think that he will benefit from it financially unless he knows that his solo almbum will make him a star.

That's really bad vibes Nick, for the ever-optimistic Live follower that you are.

I must say reading this gives me an eerie feeling. Even though I've quite moved on to other music through the years, and I haven't been a fan of Live's newer stuff, I can't say I've really stayed away very far.

Like someone said above, it's been indeed a long ride.. since 1991 for me.

But let's not write an obituary yet. Who knows what's next?

I completely understand what you are saying...I really believe that Ed or Eddie K really is being self indulgent right now and who hasn't. I just hope that this doesn't spell the end of a band that so many of us have put so much of our lives into and drew inspiration from. I hope that sometime this summer if financially feasible I will one more trek to see the best little band ever to come from a Shit Towne.

And what is the evidence of Ed solo album? Did he announce that? Did i miss anything?

Ed announced he's working on a solo album in a recent interview with Christian radio.

Zman you always manage to make me laugh. Well our paths crossed a show a few years ago in Reading, PA maybe we'll meet up again on this short "farewell" tour that people have seemed to have created in the last few hours.

CT CG PD should forget Ed. Keep the Live name (still theirs in my eyes) or make a new band with another singer. One that perhaps isn't a big self absorbed douchebag. Says what you want but Ed has left me with a very sour opinion of him

although a new album would be much more creative musically with some influence of CT, CG and PD instead of Ed, LIVE would never be as great without Ed's lyrics and Eds voice.

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Jun 20 2009, 9:08 pm) *

After seeing last nights show in New Hampshire, it got me thinking that Live could actually be finished as a band. While there performance was still very good, there was zero interaction between band members on stage. I've seen the band perform 43 times in concert, and to me this was the first time that Live didn't seem in synch as a unit. It is almost as if Ed treated this as just another solo show with a back-up band. Which is wrong on so many levels.

Also, with Ed now pushing his solo album, he seems to have discarded any enthusiasm that he once had for Live. At one time, there was talk of a new Live album this year, but outside of Believe, we see no evidence that this project is moving forward.

I don't mind Ed going solo, but he should treat Live shows as a band experience. Live's chemistry on stage is what makes the shows memorable. I'd hate to see the band lose that. It just wouldn't be the same.

Your thoughts?

Ofcourse I don't know (you saw it, I didn't), but I think you may see problems where there are none. Maybe there is something little wrong, but actually two months ago (to me) Live looked more alive than ever! Bringing long gone tunes from the TC era back on stage (Hold me Up, Top), the band rehearsing together again intensively (that wasn't usual anymore), last year a DVD project was made that all 4 where really enoustiastic about, and I think it isn't a month (but less) ago that Ed tweeded that he was writing very much (both Live and solo).
Everyone, you, me, every band, may have 'off' days or off months, but let's wait patiently on what's next. And maybe next will be just Ed doing a lot solo (album and shows), and we don't see a lot of Live for a year. No problem. They'be toured A LOT since 2006.

No sorry to disappoint I'm an ugly old dude, who is married to a pretty former redhead, well whatever is in her dye bottle. We were the couple who traveled together like 8 hours one way to see the boys, then back the next day. We met waiting in line outside in the rain.

Take Care

here here.. when i saw that at starland in march they were ridicuolously in sync.. what made that concert so enjoyable for me (other than seeing them dust off old songs we have all been dying to hear, and reviving the stale setlist) was seeing how much fun they all had.. of course i couldnt see Pat's side of the stage.. but Ed and Chad were having a great time.. and that included a great fun connection..

I have to be honest...reading what Nick wrote does kind of frighten me a bit just because he does generally have an optimistic view of Live news and such. I wouldn't think much of this if it weren't for Ed's new solo stuff, the fact that taylor NEVER mentions him AT ALL in any twitter post, and all of taylor's recent twitter posts themselves. Sounds like he is almost talking to Ed directly!

Could we all be reading into this too much? Sure. Could they have had an "off" night in NH? Sure, every band does, no matter how great they are.

I'd like to hear someone write about their show tonight (June 21). If you see that show...write about how you "felt" they acted toward one another, please.
