After seeing last nights show in New Hampshire, it got me thinking that Live could actually be finished as a band. While there performance was still very good, there was zero interaction between band members on stage. I've seen the band perform 43 times in concert, and to me this was the first time that Live didn't seem in synch as a unit. It is almost as if Ed treated this as just another solo show with a back-up band. Which is wrong on so many levels.

Also, with Ed now pushing his solo album, he seems to have discarded any enthusiasm that he once had for Live. At one time, there was talk of a new Live album this year, but outside of Believe, we see no evidence that this project is moving forward.

I don't mind Ed going solo, but he should treat Live shows as a band experience. Live's chemistry on stage is what makes the shows memorable. I'd hate to see the band lose that. It just wouldn't be the same.

Your thoughts?

Well Nick if you are saying this...maybe it is the end..who knows??? Maybe we should all just hold to our memories and cherish the moments we have seen in the past. I would be upset if this is the end, but we all must evolve and move in different directions. It would just be sad if it is. Maybe there were other factors we don't know about...I know all the guys have there own lives beyond the band, but who are we to judge. Everything is speculation and opinion. I trust your judgement, but I like so many will hold out faith that this is not the end, but maybe just a lull.

Take Care and Stay Positive.

I really hope its not the end either. However: Ed didn't make eye contact with a single band member the entire show. There was no ending bow, or no group hug during Lightning Crashes. When Chad and Ed did the little dance at the end of Lakini's Juice, Ed had his back to Chad. To me, something was definitely off onstage.

I hope things go back to normal by the next time I see them in July.

I feel the same as you Nick, but I'm just remaining positive. I hope to see the boys in Cleveland in July somehow, someway, if at all possible. Things will be better it is not the end, I just think that it is hard to get consistancy on stage with all the side work going on especially for Chad T and Ed.

Keep the faith

Maybe Ed and Chad slept together and now things are just .. "weird" between them?
Seriously, who knows, maybe it was an off night ... I think we all know that Live as a band is on the back burner, with Ed's focus on a solo record and Taylor's on producing and tv/film stuff .. but maybe that's just what they need to do right now. If they put aside those things to concentrate on the band it could be a worse result and thats when bands implode when they don't give each other time for creative outlets.

I look at a band like Powderfinger in Australia, not massive overseas but nationally they're probably our biggest band, they put together a string of awesome albums that all went to top of the charts, then the lead singer Bernard Fanning decided he wanted to do a solo album (with a different back up band) and everyone said it spelt the end, the album went on to become number one and he picked up awards for it, Powderfinger then regrouped and produced yet another number 1 album ... so I don't think it always means the end.

Its true it's a bit weird for them not to be interacting as much on stage but maybe it was just an off night, theres been no other reports of this at recent shows. I think we just gotta trust that the band know what they're doing and accept that the band isn't the main focus for some of them right now and that one day it will be again but right now seems like its time for something different.

One other report in San Diego last week of Ed not interacting on stage with his bandmates. Its in the Vegas/San Diego thread by JimandKrit.

So I found twitter and now I tweet...god, that sounds ridiculous...

back to topic...i was reading chat taylor's tweets. It was full of tid bits about cg, pd, his brother, family and friends, but NO mention of Ed anywhere.

If it is the end, what a wonderful set of cds, memories and shows!

The Vegas show was much the same way. They didn't even do their little dance at the end of Lakini's Juice. Granted, the stage was tiny so it was a little tough but it was Ed all the way.

That being said, the guys were all in GREAT moods backstage and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

The key factor here is money. I don't think any one of them could make enough on their own (even Ed and his small solo gigs), compared to anywhere near what they make now touring. They're not pulling in a ton, but with the number of dates they book a year, they are making a couple hundred grand a year. Whether there is or isn't tension isn't really the case, but I didn't get a sense at the aftershow that there was anything that serious going on. Or at least serious enough to say it's ending anytime soon.

Chad's tweets could be in regard to his movie that didn't get picked up by Sony.

I tweeted Ed stating that I miss the band interaction on stage. He didn't respond but I hope he at least read it.
