CT, CG and PD are writing music together for a project and, according to CT Twitters, those three hang out and eat together and whatnot. Meanwhile, Eddie is working on a solo album and a solo tour and started his own website and invites anyone with a cell phone and a Twitter account to attend sound check without asking his bandmates. Anyone else getting more nervous as the days go by about the future of this band? About a year ago, Ed was an enigma wrapped in a riddle, hidden behind a veil of privacy. Now he is snapping pictures of his bare chest and singing into his computer and putting it on the internet and doing interviews on Christian radio stations talking about he has found Jesus again for the first time.

I'm not complaining or criticizing. It's just that my head is spinning. I don't know what to think about all of this, but all of this new and different behavior makes me concerned about the future of my favorite band.

I dont think I'd ever have described Ed this way..

I'm sure if there was a problem they'd be addressing it amoungst themselves, they've known each other since forever so im sure it's fine. Who said that Ed never consulted the rest of the band about bringing fans to the soundcheck? I think a lot of people are jumping to way too many conclusions too quickly ... just sit back and see where it all goes. the guys obviously have a lot of time on their hands now and are in a state in their life where they can juggle Live, a solo career, producing movies/tv shows .. or whatever.

if it all pans out...one idea I gave Chad was a contest where HIS FANS could enter a contest to "design" a LIMITED EDITION "CHAD TAYLOR" T SHIRT ....then he would pick a winner and I gave him ideas for the contest winner....the shirts would then be sold...and the profits would go to a charity of his choice..I am trying to wrap this up with him this week... kicking.gif

This is a great thought.

Anyway, speaking of Ed and the rest of the band... I figure it has been like that for a long time already. And then there first were the three of them and then Ed joined anyway. After all, he is the frontman. And for anyone who is not getting that far in the music examination, always thinks that the one who sings is the boss.

1. How do we know that Ed didn't ask the members of the band before inviting people to soundcheck?

2. What is evidence that CT, CG, and Pat are writing together by themselves, and also what is the evidence that this supposed music ISN'T for Live? What if they have agreed to write a bunch of songs and then Ed just writes the lyrics and melodies? The last two albums have been led mostly by Ed's writing and they have been flops, so maybe they are using a different approach. Just speculation obviously, but could explain why Believe is such a hard rocker.

I wouldn't worry about the fact that the three of them hang out a lot, but Ed is off doing his solo thing. I am sure the guys from Live make a nice living but their last successful release was a long, long time ago and this solo push from Ed could just be the result of Ed needing some extra bank.

The fact is, these Twitters only give us a little glimpse into the life of the band. If fans start to take that and spin it into more than it is then it will certainly stop. I imagine, if the band was really having problems you wouldn't see anything in public that hinted at that.

I Twittered Chad Taylor yesterday about one of his "Tweets" where he talked about new music and a new website. I asked him if the new music would be +LIVE+ music?

he responded late last night:

cdtaylor: @LebanonCorvalis no it won't be Live music. It will be Rockin' however.

The fact of the matter is that Live broke up after TDTH. The last three albums were all written by Ed save for a handful of tracks, and recorded mostly individually and pieced together. They still play great shows, and maybe have some more albums in them, but Ed's new site and projects are not a new development but rather a more honest view of the way it's been for ten years.

how boring at this time in their life if all they have is +LIVE+...you see what Taylor is into, alot of stuff(filming, making music, etc)...Gracey has his passions(offroad) and I am sure Pat & Ed both do also...if we think these guys will be together FOREVER...I highly doubt that will happen....BUT..in my eyes...if any of them left....to me..it would'nt be the same...+LIVE+..so before that EVER happens..I would rather see them end it together which is what probably will happen...at some point...I just hope not for another 10 years or more lol.gif ...
we all have ideas and speculations in our heads of what we think is happening....

as long as they are happy together and have fun doing what their doing..lets just let it be..
ps...my speculations...ED will have a solo album..he will also continue to do solo shows in the future..Taylor will make GREAT movies and become a race car driver(ahahaaaa)....but then...WTF do I know.... uhoh.gif

well I thought I read he was saying PD and CG would do the soundtrack, not he (which what was the case earlier - 2007 - when they made some movie music together, PD+CG).
But if it's really the 3 of them, it could be interesting. Chad didn't told us WHAT they were going to do?
Guess they will start a new band, called "Public Affection", at least, that's how it all started wink.gif without a singer.
