You have just protested the fact that you protest things.

..."Shouldn't you be protesting at an abortion clinic or damning gays to hell instead of arguing one man's supposed Christianity on the internet?"

i'm not arguing anything about ed. i've repeatedly said "if he is a true Christian...". i'm not stating that he is... i'm just going by what the original poster of this thread stated through an article.

i have never protested anything, and i don't damn anyone to hell... they damn theirselfs.

Since we have established that Ed really isn't a Christian by your narrow definition of Christianity are you going to leave again? Seriously isn't that why you came back in the first place?

no. the reason i came back was that i had heard that ed had accepted Christ, and i thought that "here" was a place that i could go to confirm that. well, i saw this thread, and stated that i was happy to see that ed found Jesus. that.... is.... all. everything else that has been said was a direct retaliation to the harassment i've received since i've been here.

I believe gotigrz that it takes two people to debate or create an argument, so I would believe that you are as much at fault as the others. Don't play yourself out to be a victim of attacks from people on the board. Maybe if you would not pick and choose your battles and do as Jesus Christ spoke of so many times, try to love and understand your neighbor then you would be better off. I grew up in a Christian home as my mother has been a deeply devoted follower since her early teens and my father is a pastor of a church. The reality is that organized churches are not for me, nor were they for me as child. I like Ed have fundamental ideas on Christianity, but I would not go as far as being harshly judgmental of other faiths.
I believe that there are certain universal truths presented in all faiths and ultimately the most important ones are faith, love, and understanding. If you don't know churches, denominations, and for that many religious practices were made by man, which means there are flaws. The reasons they were created were because of disagreements between men, not because a higher power granted it. Just some food for thought and lets get back to what this board is about, talking about the music.

Isn't that pretty much the reason he was just implying?

I just have this image of Gotigrz sitting at home when a messenger runs in "sir, telegram for you".

Gotigrz: Hmm whats this, Ed has accepted Jesus as his savior? excellent, another soldier in the fight against Satan! Finally I can listen to all these albums again and know that songs like Iris and Gas Hed are oozing in the love of Jesus Christ.

Also, the harassment you recieved is a direct result of you turning up out of the blue and pretty much saying we're all going to hell, i'm sure it doesn't offend us but lets face it, you were always gonna cop a backlash for that.

actually, i still don't listen to their old stuff. i trashed that stuff a long time ago, and to listen to that stuff today i'd have to purchase it all again... not gonna do that. plus, the meaning to all the old songs are still the same to me,.. so...

Also, the harassment you recieved is a direct result of you turning up out of the blue and pretty much saying we're all going to hell,

please, show me where i said those words. if you have a problem with someone saying that Jesus is the only way... you have a proble with God's word, not the person.

Fine, I have a problem with "God's" word. But to say you then shouldnt have a problem with the person has too many variables. But that's for the other thread.

Aside from this, just out of curiosity, do you only listen to music that you believe as you say, is oozing love for Jesus Christ? Like, ok I can understand a Christian not listening to Satanic death metal or something, like a polar opposite, but where is the religious confliction in listening to a song like Shit Towne or Gas Hed for example? That would be incredibly close minded to shut music out just because it doesn't have Christian overtones.

Actually go tigrz, THIS is what you said.

QUOTE(gotigrz @ May 11 2009, 10:06 am) *

you people are crazy. i hear most of you saying... "i hope that eddie hasn't found Christ cause i want to enjoy his music"... that IS what you're saying and that IS the most selfish thing i've heard.

yes, i'm the one that everyone cussed out and made fun of because i stopped listening to LIVE's music cause the lyrics didn't sit well with me, being a Christian. well, i knew i could never listen to LIVE the same way, but i don't want anyone to go to Hell. i pray for lost souls. and, i think eddie was one of them. and, if indeed, he has found Jesus... HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD, JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!

it's funny how you loved eddie when he was lost and questioning everything... ,but now that he has found his salvation, and truly happy... you're not. i take it back... it's not funny. it's sad. if you truly loved eddie k. you'd wish him nothing but the best in his life, and be happy FOR HIM that he has found Jesus Christ. if you all thought that eddie was such a cool guy for what he use to question... is he no longer "cool"??? and, if he is, .... why don't you check out what he no longer questions... but believes?

peace...

Yes, you are the victim. Jumping in a thread and calling everyone "crazy" is definitely spreading the love of Christ. Bravo.

I say again, Ed is clearly multi-religious. Therefore, he does not fit your definition of TRUE Christianity so he is going to burn with the rest of us. Keep praying buddy!!

Also for the record, Live's music has been pretty shitty for awhile and that has nothing to do with religion.

I have never been involved into this thread. But don;t you really think that it is not the multi-religiousness that is meaningfull to Ed, but the fact that there is ONE god whether you call him Christ or Buddha, or whatever?

pokey, actually gas head goes west has a lyric "for the love of all gods". lol... i know, i'm picking... but, yeah, i can listen to some songs such as: sh!t towne, TDAOC, waitress, etc... but, i guess i was just bothered, too much, by the fact that so many of their other songs spoke directly out against what i believe in.

yes, i do listen to some Christian songs... if there is a real good message, or if it just sounds good. like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m96MtNlMz8&feature=related i love that song. also, i listen to a lot of other stuff.. i love just about all 90's rock, i love rocco deluca and the burden, i like a lot of music as long as it suits my musical likings and doesn't speak directly against something i believe in. so, no, it doesnt' have to be Christian.

and, if you listened to that link, and happened to like the sound.... here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6bBxO37LE4&feature=related

I think you actually may have a point here, I mean check this out:

i am not ok
with this tv in my face
and liar after liar
with nothin' bout nothin' higher

i am on the outside
peerin' in to your world
and all the boys and girls are singin'
save me, save me from the one who only rapes me

Conspiracy? I think not.

If you believe in god, why would you need some songs to support your faith?

what song is that from, pokey? and i don't really understand what you mean by "conspiracy, i think not." would you explain?

like i said.. i listen to all types of music... except country... i hate that stuff... anyway, i love good sounding music, that is all. all the songs i like don't have to say... "oooh..... ooooh... oh, i love you, Jesus". but, my favorite band in the whole world can't be saying "to Christ: a cross, and to me: a chair, i'll sit and earn the ransom from up here". to me, and please correct me if i'm wrong, but that, to me, sounds like he's saying... "i'm equal to Christ".
