Wow. Maybe not wow what an amazing song, but wow it's actually hard/heavy, at least compared to their latest. As I was watching it I couldn't help but smile. If this is a preview of what's to come I am so freaking excited it's ridiculous. (I discovered them after BOP, so I never got to experience anticipation for TC, SS, or TDTH, only SFBM sad.gif )

I don't think it sounded anything like Purifier at all! I'm not a fan of Purifier. Purifier sounds like they're trying to hard to rock out! "Believe" is a truer rock song. TC or Secret Samadhi sound ? I don't know about that.

Whoever compared it to Purifier is horrible at comparing things (couldn't think of anything else to say lol). It's nothing like Purifier at all. Purifier is funky, probably about as jammy as Live can get. This sounds like something from the 90's/early 2000s.

The lyrics are defenitely simple and it doesn't sound like there will be any memorable lines, but it doesn't interefere with the song at all which has happened with their recent work.

When I heard the song title I got a little scared and then EdStipe posted the lyrics and I was like uhoh.gif but man I like it. It's amazing what adding even just a little intensity does to their music.

Cheers Ramy! And thanks Dan, all over it at lightning speed as usual thumbsup.gif

Good call on the Audioslave similarity Jonesy, it actually reminds me of 'Change' from the pre-TDTH era... happy days kicking.gif

EDIT: You put the date for the song wrong... it is 5/10/09 not 10/5/09

How did u find that Dan? I only just put that up like 5 minutes ago mate, just waiting for it to be processed ;-)

It was just a co-incidence. I just woke up and just as I've been doing for the past few days, searched YouTube for "Believe" and I was stunned when it appeared in the search results.

Thanks again for recording and posting the video! thumbsup.gif

Wow.. thanks guys! I'm liking this song the more I listen to it.

I can just imagine this becoming a theme song for sporting events in the future.. like when you go to playoff games and you see all those 'Believe' signs. During a timeout or between innings when everyone's going wild, this song comes on, "It's time to believe again". lol.gif

As for the lyrics, this is what I've got:

As I wake up from the dream
Into easin' out of sleep ?
Stand up, rise up for some..
want to share this bread I found

It's time to believe again
A warning to you my friend
If this is not the end
Drowning into the point of no return

I blew up my tv set
a silent fall of disarray
take a step right through my quiet home again

It's time to believe again
A warning to you my friend
If this is not the end
Drop into the point of no return.. no return.. no return.. no return

Thanks for the listen. Don't really care for it at all though....it's just not what I'm looking for out of this band. Take me up to Zion was a trillion times better.

I'm just sick of these three minute wanna be rock tunes. The main riff is ok at best, albeit quite simple. It's just so structured.....why doesn't Ed just shut up and let the band take it away for a minute and a half or so, instead of a 10 second solo? You know, I want some creative seventies style rock, where the guitar solos and instrumentals told more of the story than the lyrics.

While i'll take this over ANYTHING off SFBM, I still find it uncreative and boring. To be quite honest, I could easily come up with a comparable riff and solo in the span of a few days. It's what's in between that takes the creating. The jamiing and the letting go into bass intros, back into guitar talk, some fucking tambourine and drums....whatever. This is a better effort but still pretty lame in my opinion. This band should be much farther along than this. Todays music just fucking sucks and this fits right in with it.

At least Take me up to Zion has some raw emotion sewn into it. It sounds like it's from the heart. This song just sounds very ordinary and uncreative to me. I've listened to it quite a few times and can't find anything I like about it whatsoever.

I think I just about give up on all of todays music.

Has Live ever done that?

No, but I think they should be at the point where they could. I think they're talented enough. Susquehanna came pretty close to achieving that in concert. They have a few versions of the dolphins Cry that went for 7 or 8 minutes.....which are probably the most amazing versions of that song out there. Not by coincidence neither.

I listened to it a few more times. and agree with liverocks. This is not really good. It's just verse chorus rinse and repeat, ahh fuck its better than sfbm but still 3min tune of nothing but verse chorus.

I didn't wanna say this but CHAD TAYLOR!!! WTF you have been playing guitar for over 20 years and this is what you call a solo????? I do not want to sound like an asshole, but he should be embarrased. Fuck I can understand that maybe technically your not good (which after 20+ years is not excusable) but to throw such a shitty solo in is just sad. And Gracey's drumming begs to move me ( as a drummer)

and to those cookie cutter fans to come and say : why are u here ur not even a fan rozx!!!!!" I am a fan, a long time fan , and some of us just miss something , it's hard to explain but we all know inside what it is. And if you do not know, then you just DON'T. and you never will.

Agreed. Not that it's horrible or anything, but is this the best solo they can come up with? For what? 6 or 7 seconds??? That's just amateur.

All I'm saying now, as well as the past, is where is these guys having enough balls to just let it all hang out and jam a few songs for 6 or 7 minutes? Take some time and write a longer guitar piece. This is just friggin lazy, predictable and boring. After all this time, you'd think they'd be capable of just letting it fucking rip for fuck sakes.

FUCk man! ... liverocks. what is stopping them from doing a 10 minute song??? Maybe it's me? I found prog and listen to unconventional music. Live could do it too. Meh I'm drunk. But this shit bores me. And as artist how are they not bored.

I have no idea man, but I started to wonder wtf was happening after I heard Ed say a while back that he was sick of the music out there in the mainstream. Said most of it sucked. A few months later, he released SFBM. So what does that tell you???

I dunno, I just can't comprehend how any of the guys can't listen to SFBM and not be embarassed. How can they not cringe?
