Multiple sources have just reported back to me from Reno that Live will be doing a 15th anniversary re-release of Throwing Copper. This falls in line with what Ed told audience members in Philly earlier this year about Hold Me Up being released to the public.

I'm hoping its all true.

That is awesome.

I hope they take a look at Pearl Jam's 'Ten' reissue and aim to make it as comprehensive as that was...

Awesome! Super fucking awesome!

Also, a thought; but what if this re-release does nothing? Like, what if the critics/billboard etc take no notice whatsoever and it floats by.... hmm..

I really hope it will include all the b-sides! Don't know if that's unlikely, but if they can make it to release Hold me Up.... eyebrow.gif than I have some hope for the others! If Radioactive releases this, than there's no problem to include the b-sides!

Also, I think Live wants to do this, so they get some attention, just before the enw album comes out, so that the new cd will be more popular

Which is a big possibility, but meh.

I really hope it does have more than just Hold Me Up, not that I'm complaining about that but to make this extra special they should pack it with as much as possible, Susquohanna maybe? I dunno..

Is it also possible this is to maybe grab the attention of record lables? If they are preparing a new album then releasing something like this and having it do reasonably well may give them more bargaining power?

come to think of it, it seems that this has been on the cards for a while. Why else would live have declined to put hold me up on the zack and miri soundtrack. Dont quote me, but i recall some time ago ed being asked about the song and he replied something like the song will have its time.

considering how much rotation TC gets on australian radio i think the re-release will be a smash down here. I always wanted them to do another throwing copper. And now they are smile.gif

I'd love to see Hold Me Up released as a single to rock radio. With a push, I think it could get decent airplay.

ive said it before, ill say it again....i hope they "remaster" it with dynamics instead of brickwalling it and making everything the same volume. its pretty brickwalled as it is (but not as bad as V or BOP)....i would love to hear the full, dynamic version.

I agree dude, add Hold me up, suquehanna and maybe another tune??? I think it would do quite well and open some new eyes towards their new album.

Amen to that. Of course the "loudness war" will ensure that it is brickwalled to buggery, so hopefully they release it on vinyl as well (Pearl Jam's Ten Redux on vinyl had much better dynamics than the CD version)

This looks like it may actually happen. The guys played almost the entire Throwing Copper album last night in Dallas and added Hold Me Up saying that they only had room for 14 songs on the album and they had 16 to pick from.

... saying that they only had room for 14 songs on the album and they had 16 to pick from.

That's a bullshit excuse. The length for Throwing Copper is approximately 55 minutes 40 seconds. A standard CD holds 74 minutes and some artists have even put 80 minutes on there, so 'running out of space' is factually incorrect.

If Live really wanted to include Hold Me Up and Susquehanna on TC, then there's no technical reason why they couldn't.
