Huge project due tomorrow and I've decided to listen to MJ, TC, SS, and TDTH back to back to back to back. Lately I've only been listening to a handful of Live songs, mostly unreleased.

In the stupid digital age where CD's are extinct I haven't listened to an entire album IN ORDER in such a long time. Haven't even really listened to one artist really for more than a couple songs. F-U Itunes and your shuffle capability!

I encourage everyone to join me! As I procrastinate maybe I'll update my experience. So far MJ rocks! I always got just a tad turned off by Ed's raspy voice (would take it 11 times out of 10 over SFBM Ed though) but I forgot how good it was.

To try and make this an actual worthwhile thread, when's the last time you've had a "Live Session?" And do you think you've been affected in the same way as me by the Itunes/Ipod era?

Oh MJ, why did I ever grow so apart from you? First 1/3 is pretty stellar as well as the last 3. Good Pain (so underrated is Good Pain), MEIAVC, and 10,000 are quite the trio. Gotta be up there with any other stretch of 3 Live songs in a row (interesting thread idea maybe???).

I usually do this on car trips when I'm driving alone. When I head home from school, it is just enough time to listen to MJ-TDTH all the way through in order. I agree that MJ is outstanding.

Drifted through TC which I think might have happened not because it's so bland but because everything is so good. I need a mediocre song every once in awhile to keep the amazing ones novel (psych majors anyone?). Did catch a little bit of DAOC which is brilliant. Love the buildup of TBD and Horse might be with Good Pain in the category of criminally underappreciated Live songs.

Playin' dominoes and drinkin' beer... nod.gif

I have to admit, it's been a long time since I listened through all the albums, because I just pick and choose what want to listen to in my media library. I did however recently go through V as I said in my V thread, and the other day when I walked to college I got through the whole of BOP (nice enough whilst listening, but not memorable in comparison to old wokrs). I should have a Live session. No, two. No, three!

You chose BOP...interesting... nervous.gif...just kidding. I don't know what to think of BOP. It's the first album that I heard (I had heard their earlier work but never necessarily knew it was Live..the opening of Heaven caught my interest right away). I can't tell if it gets undeserved crap or if it's in the same category as SFBM. I do like a lot of songs on the album but wouldn't really put them side by side with the first four albums (Heaven, Rivertown, She, Lighthouse, ETISYF, and Sweet Release which is another vastly underrated tune). But the overall message of the album is bland. And the ending two songs kill it. One of them would be alright, but two anti-war/let's go society songs? Maybe I'll listen to it later.

Did not complete my session last night. Made it through SS, but didn't pay attention (my project sucked btw). Listened to it again today though. Rock solid all the way through. Hate the lyrics of Rattlesnake (mainly the rhyming, overall theme is cool) but still a kick ass song. Unsheathed yet another underrated song. Heropsycho kicks ass and so relatable. I think I might start a Merica fan club. Why does no one like this song, lol? No idea what the album is about but that sometimes creates the best work.

On to TDTH, my favorite! Let's see if it still is.

I never really finished...listening to SFBM right now for some reason, lol. Some songs are actually not as bad as I remembered, yet some songs are so much worse than I remembered. Contemplating deleting them from my Itunes so no one stumbles upon them. lol.gif
