I'm trying to gather a bit of data on browser usage so I'm polling here. If you use more than one browser, please just vote for the one you use the most. If you'd like to add a bit extra (ie. why you use a certain browser over the others) please do so.

o'right, I voted... but uhm Swami .... sarcasm.gif is this anything Live related?! Or are you trying to improve this site (than I understand, it may more or less be related to a LIVE website).

It's Live-related in the sense that I'm using this to determine a sample percentage of Live fans' choice for browser since I'm developing the new version of my discography for the band and I'm having.....issues.....with one particular browser. Won't mention any names.

Firefox > IE8 > Chrome > Safari > IE7 > Opera > Dog Shit > IE6

Fixed.

There are scripts that block people out of the site if they're using IE6 or below and politely informs them that they should upgrade to IE8. wink.gif I'd take advantage. IE6 needs to die, already.

Nooooo, Opera is far better than Firefox. Fox is clunkier, and IE8 is... well, IE. Also, Chrome is flash, but too basic at this point. Opera is the perfect balance of everything, and easily the most stylish way to browse. nod.gif

When do you think the new discography will be done? I loved the first one! I referred to it all the time, still do.

+1 for Firefox

The 'copy image location' right click function is very useful for me, as well as the tabbed browsing (I believe they were the first to implement this?).

I haven't tried Opera on my PC yet. My mobile browser is Opera though.

I think it was Opera, actually. Firefox took it from Opera, then IE took it as well.

Internetworks was the first browser to have tabs in 1994.

Source:

Opera is good for mobile devices, I will admit. It is not good for modern PCs however because most can handle the processing needs. You probably don't use a lot of functions and that si why you use Opera. I love to tech out my browser so firefox is good for me.

This pic explains everything really well.

I chose Firefox, but the second that Chrome supports RSS feeds I'll drop Firefox like a hot potato. Chrome is so fast and smooth - I love it.

Sorry for the late reply.

The new discography is likely to be released in Q4 of 2009 or Q1 of 2010. There are a LOT of changes to be made. I was originally planning to have it ready for March of this year, but many problems came up (not the least of which was the necessity of an immediate formatting). The new LCR has fought with a few appearance and functionality issues, but I'm pleased to say that most of them have been resolved. At this point, about 4% of the content is complete, 90% of the functionality, and 100% of the appearance. The new site is set to be much larger than the current LCR in a number of ways. One major difference is that the store will expand from some 20 Live items to over 700 Live items. The current site contains 8 main sections (Albums & EP, Singles, Samplers & Other Releases, Syndicated Radio Shows, Compilation Appearances, Video Appearances, Side Projects, Gray Bar Items). The new site will contain 9 (possibly 10...working this out) sections, with several sections being subdivided even further. The appearance and performance of the site is much more sleek, and the information will be a lot more useful and in-depth (more notes on each release, and several additional sections for extensive reading and comprehension).

In short, the 6-to-7-year break between revamps is going to be well worth the wait. smile.gif

Safari. I don't even know why - I have no problems with it, and as far as my own browsing goes, I see no advantage Firefox has.
