It looks like Ed is doing a proper tour solo:

April 19- Alexandria, VA
http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1500427F...01&minorcatid=1

April 20
Philly, PA (Tin Angel)
http://www.tinangel.com/schedule2.html

April 21- Hoboken, NJ
http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEvent...eventId=1269714

April 23- Allston, Ma
http://www.ticketmaster.com/search?tm_link...&q=Ed+Kowalczyk

Long Island, NY (No Date yet)

More to come.

Just for the record, I'm not a huge fan of this solo gigs idea. Get together with your band and produce something.

Is this some "I could have done it on my own midlife crisis thing" or is he doing it for kicks. If for kicks, kick your ass back to the studio with your band.

I agree with Hoodstock..........get together with your band and make a badass record. You'd think these guys would be itching to make a great record. And should we be reading anything into this solo show spurt? Does Ed have aspirations of going out on his own? Man, I hope not.

The 4/20 Philly show at the Tin Angel is SOLD OUT by the way. I was there tonite for a show, and a chic I was hanging with got shut down trying to buy tix. They told her another show may be added. I kind of doubt that, but I guess time will tell..............

No, I don't think so. Ed just always says it's fun to do because that (he solo + acoustic guitar) is where all the songs come from. But I guess he would be bored if he could only do solo shows instead of full band performances.
I also don't see a future Eddie K. solo record happen. He just plays songs from Live, and there's no difference if he would write songs for a solo record. he writes both of them anyway tongue.gif

lol well there are about 87,000 places to play on Long Island, so it's a little hard to say.

Tickets are sold out online for the NJ show. You can call this number (201-653-3355) to see if there are other ways to purchase the leftover tickets. My guess is that RXP will be doing give aways for the remaining tickets.

There are roughly 20 seats left for the Long Island solo show. They seem to be selling really fast.

The lead singer of the Alternate Routes will be opening for Ed in Hoboken and I'm guessing all these solo shows. Both bands are associated with Vanguard, so it makes perfect sense. A Live/Alternate Routes summer tour would rock! smile.gif

I actually think the show in Hoboken may have two openers:

The Alternate Routes (Full Band)
Mike Motrey

Long Island is now sold out along with Hoboken and Philly. This Ed solo thing is doing well.
