Live, The 90's, and Where It Has All Gone, A Look At The Whole Picture Options

I'm aware that Live isn't part of the Seattle grunge movement, but I consider it and them as part of the 90's music scene. I came across this article today:

Grunge Bands: Where Are They Now?

The article itself brings up the general idea that the huge acts during the 90's have faded from the mainstream scene today. Unlike older bands that have hung around on a large scale for generations, this era seems to be lost in the shuffle with the overall population.

The article focuses on the Seattle bands, but it really encompasses all the bands of the 90's. Some non Seattle examples from this era that I think could be added to the list would be Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Live, and Dave Matthews Band (just to name a few).

I was wondering what others thought of this topic, Live, and why this has happened to this specific generation.

Also, I was wondering if you outlined Live with the same outline the author used for the Seattle bands how would you fill it in?

Live has just released a DVD of a performance in Amsterdam and is said to be working on an album for a late 2009 or early 2006 release.
