Word. We need more name dropping, like Jimmy Buffet, Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Bono, Elton John, Diesel Jeans, etc.

Screw that, they should just make an album where every song they self reference. I mean, they're pissing in the mainstream after all..

They can piss in it all they want since they got out and dried off a few years ago.

Maybe they meant game seven of the regular season. If it's NHL or NBA then it's really meaningless.

I suppose it would be between TC and TDTH for me and followed closely by MJ. All brilliant albums.

there have been strong arguments for TC but the distance to here is my favorite - start to finish it is excellent. Well crafted, welll written it has variety but a commmon thread, the most beautiful love song in dance with you which is also a perfect closer...and dophins to open...throw in stood up for love, run to the water, sparkle, meltdown, the distance - god would be pleased with that cd.

On tc, it is a more relevant album in that its success was huge so it marked a bigger point on LIVES journey nad thereby had a greater impact on peoples lives plus it was released at a time when music meant more to the average listener...from tdaoc to wd it is perfect.

technically TC is probably a better rock/grunge record and obvviously more popular and successful but tdth has a greater musical pallette and it is full of colour, life, and hope a brilliant record and my favourite - definitely comparable and possibly equal to TC.

Hmmm...I think I go for TC, my first Live cd. With SS as a close runer up.
Can't be many groups that have 3 so great records in a row. TC, SS,TDTH.

As much as I like MJ and TDTH, Throwing Copper is hands down their best. Not for it's commercial success but it's overall flow and content. The album tells a story from start to finish and there is no filler whatsoever.

Songs like I Alone, White Discussion and Lightning Crashes are simply epic. The dam at otter creek is the best opener they have off any album. Then you have songs like Selling The Drama, Iris and Stage, which are all pretty damn good in their own right. I Alone, WD, LC and Pillar of Davidson are all extremely well written. The basslines in TBD and Stage are paralelled only by PLOTR off Mental Jewelry. Then you have a couple of catchy as hell songs in Waitress and Shit Towne. And Did I even mention All Over You yet???
While I agree that TDTH may be a little more pleasant to the ears, it comes nowhere even fucking close to being as good as Throwing Copper. This album was a masterpiece and the only nineties album to better it would most likely be TEN from Pearl Jam, and that's saying quite a bit. TC was their best album a trillion times over.
