If you're going to read all of the Aussie posts in an Aussie accent then you gotta get the phrases right too, it's "get that man a new!"

Live's cover of Supernatural. One of the only good covers the band has done. Probably the best cover they've done.

Rubbish. That would be Imagine!

So far I'd say the following songs are locks on the playlist:

Gas Head Goes West
Pillar of Davidson (my fav is the RS version)
Like I Do
Imagine
Love My Way (it's been a while since I've given it some spins)
Purifier

Thanks and keep the thoughts and versions coming. I'll whip it together in about a week.

P.S. - Never been a fan of Supernatural. Voodoo Lady and anything V won't make it.

Supernatural I'd say is by far their best cover, followed by Love my Way then Walk the line ... guess it doesn't help much that I don't really like Imagine much as a song anyways. But some of those recordings out there of Supernatural .. Ed's voice is just .. wow the best it's ever been in any song, cover or not.

Yeah, not to mention their complete rearrangement of I Walk the Line....possibly one of the most creative covers of any song over the past 20 years.

Not to mention Running to stand still by U2 which was also very well done.

Lets not mention God don't Never Change, which LIVE turned into a rockin', bluesy jammin' fucking tune.

Certainly not imagine, which the band did on several occasions neither.

Nah, these covers all suck eh? I think pretty much every cover this band has done is well above average. Sorry buddy, your post sucks monkey ass.

I honestly think Live could pull off an album of covers .. it'd probably be their best chance at commercial success too. Even though I say I wasnt a big fan of Imagine, like I say that's more to do with the song itself than Live's version. All of their covers like Luke mentioned above plus others like Dusted and all the bits they've done in I Alone have been incredible with their own personal twist to them. If they chose some killer songs and got an album out there of songs people already loved then I think that would do them the world of good .. normally bands get bagged for cover albums ... Live gets bagged anyways so that wont hurt them none, but I think it would surprise more people than anything, they're that good with covers I think they could change the opinions of the anti-covers album people.

Or something, im just rambling now more than usual .... still think it'd be a great idea.

I'm dying to find the I Alone Youtube video I posted where Ed sings bits from Feel The Quiet River Rage mixed in. Had to re format my computer and lost it. If anybody finds it, could you let me know please?

Also, great post dude. I agree with you 100 percent on just about everything you said. Guess there IS a first time for everything huh? tongue.gif

Yeah, just found that the vide was removed due to a copyright claim. Too bad because that was by far, the best performance of that song I'd ever seen.
