I can't stand the lyrics to "The Sanctity of Dreams" either. That whole song sounds like a bad Avril Lavigne b-side.

Greeeeeeaaaaaaat! Now I have That song stuck in my head.

And I didn't know it said "Carps in the slime" That does suck. I'll rewrite it!

"Wastin' their time, they're in a decline
Submarines with no periscope"

Makes sense and it kills off another poorly written simile. Does anyone like it?

Well I do understand it at face value, I don't understand the sub-context (if there is one).

Assuming there is a sub-context, I still don't like it, because that would make it smugly obtuse (to me), like many of the SS lyrics.

while sun may have some average lyrics, it also has one of my absolute favourite lines from a live song: "What good's a beautiful day if you can't see the light?"

I think there is some sort of alternate context behind it. Kinda means to me for people to quit being so fuckin' selfish and think of others for a change. "we all get the flu, we all get AIDS, we've got to stick together after all, everybody good enough for some change..."

I think it's a very clever lyric. Like a lot of Live's lyrics at the time, it was meant for various people to perceive it in ways that were relative to their own situations and life experiences.

Yeah thats what I mean, it's clear to see that it's not only on face value a guy saying we should give some change to this waitress, but like you said it also speaks vollumes about the same thing in a world widw context.

I'd understand if someone just didn't like it, but the metaphore used is pretty simple.

Although I hate to admit it sometimes, almost every song on V can be on this list. "Transmit Your Love" is absolutely embarrassing: With Live its game seven every single night.
