Check out this CLASSIC performance of Shit Towne. Isn't it brilliant? I miss that Ed...

... but after watching a mobile phone recorded version of Shit Towne from Paradiso, it's clear to me that Shit Towne is one of the old songs that still brings out the old live... where they're happy to just fuck it up and let rip soem rock and roll. Perhaps not quite like they used to, but still a bit.

... what do you think? Firstly, isn't that performance ACE, and secondly; don't you think Shit Towne brings out the roll and roll band we love?

Had the pleasure of seeing Live at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 06 and Shit Towne was the tune that brought out the 'old' band that night too. Gracey was a madman.

Quote from my review

QUOTE

Shit Towne: Someone requested it from the audience and Ed decided to go for it. Ed played acoustic guitar while Adam and Chad played electric.. Gracey was an ANIMAL even with his hotsticks (the sticks he uses that are sort of tied together pieces of dowel) as he was breaking pieces off all over the place. Ed tried to take the guitar solos on the acoustic, which was a disaster!! Although it was neat because it was all in good fun... the crowd enjoyed the fact that he had a hard time with it.

Seriously -- It was a highlight of the night. So much energy.

It was pretty good... I'm surprised he played guitar on this one in 2000. Does anyone have the whole show ripped for audio?

You're right, its the one song Live still manage to sound like the old Live with ... there are glimpses of it in other songs, even Iris has been slightly pussified with the way Ed's voice is now. But Shit Towne still rocks. I miss this version of the band, even just the intro to the song is so much cooler, more attitude less love fest.

Yeah, does anyone have the whole gig stashed away somewhere that they could share? A couple of those other songs were rocking pretty nicely.

I agree with Merica that Shit Towne is one of the few ongs that bring back the old Live on stage.

But last I week I found this video on youtube (never saw it before)

Rattlesnake2007

If I didn't know the date, I would never believed this was quite recent (2007).
Also the only ong, except for shit towne, where ed use his electric guitar.

I wish I would see this song as an opening of their show once! They really need to play more SS stuff.

Not too shabby at all, SI. It did seem like an "older" performance, just due to everybody's performance. Rock on!
