I live in Michgan, and with the auto industry in the tank, I can't afford to be in the fanclub. Can anyone tell me what the FOL Holiday Gift was this year?

I haven't heard of anybody receiving it yet. In fact, I'm not sure whether the gift has even been mailed.

I don't think it's been sent out either. I was checking out FOL yesterday and no one had received theirs yet and no one posted saying it'd been sent either.

Here's that thread in case you want to watch it for news:

I know that they were printing shipping labels on 12/12 because Michelle emailed me and asked if I wanted to change my renewal date to 11/30 from 12/1 because I missed it by like an hour. Haven't heard anything about them being shipped, though.

Apparently the holiday gift, which they made such a big deal about signing up for on friendsoflive, is actually and Easter gift.

From the FOL boards:

"2008 Holiday Gift Information
January 2, 2009:
The 2008 Friends of LIVE holiday gift is currently in the process of packaging. We anticipate it being shipped within the next week or two. Please check back... we will post an update when the gift ships. Thanks."

and straight from FOL themselves on 1/7:

"Nope - postal workers haven't had the chance to steal it yet. It's in final stages of packaging... i hope to have it done to ship either Friday or Monday...good news is it will actually be going first class in US (Airmail for Int'l as always) rather than bulk mail so it will arrive much quicker when i do ship it.

Sorry to all for the delay... the change over to the new shipping method delayed it a bit while i put the postage on each package (working as fast as possible to put all that postage on there though!!!)

I'll update the homespun online section as soon as it ships

Hope everyone is having a happy new year so far

Michelle @ FOL"

Just got back from the post office - all holiday gifts shipped out today. Everyone should be getting them pretty quickly too now that we shipped the US ones first class rather than bulk mail (Int'l ones went airmail as always). Sorry again for the delay - i'm just as glad as you guys are to have them shipped

Posted an update on Homespun Online also so everyone will be aware of the shipment. Enjoy! I would love to hear feedback on what you think of it when it arrives (positive and negative - it helps me to show management what were good (and bad) ideas for gifts each year).

Um, so what is it?

1. Pain Lies On The Riverside (Club Remix)
2. Pain Lies On The Riverside (Dub Remix)
3. Pain Lies On The Riverside (Club Dub Rub-a-dub-dub Remix)

lol.gif

Seriously though, I'm praying for at least a few of the Live at the Paradiso outtakes, even if they're just audio:
- Waitress
- Iris
- Run To The Water
- White, Discussion
- Sofia
- Voodoo Lady
- The Dam At Otter Creek
- Shit Towne

Then again they could always surprise the shit out of us with Hold Me Up - Remastered Studio Version...

I have no clue what it is, but never get your hopes up too much when it comes to a Holiday Gift.

with Live's 'missing ink' merch relationship... it could very well be like last year which was a Live branded digital camera sleeve and a bottle opener. Okay stuff... but I'd prefer a vinyl like the old days for sure.

No doubt, I am fully expecting a coozie and Live post-it notes. But, I am hoping for a vinyl rockin.gif

Yeah, you're probably right. I bet it'll be this:
