Never really got Pearl Jam at all. Or Nirvana. Or the Smashing fucking bastard Pumpkins.

I adored Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, though.

I find that 90% of what I listened to in the 90's (Soundgarden, Pearljam, Nirvana, Green Day, STP, ect..) I just don't care to listen to anymore. At the time I thought it was great music but I can see why it faded.

I feel the same to be honest. But I think the same about the vast majority of the music I've listened to over the last more than 30 years. You have to move on. It always makes me laugh when I look on places like Friends Reunited and see all the kids I went to school with are 38 and still list the same bands they liked when they were about 14.

That fills me with horror, to imagine only listening to 80s music and not having discovered all the great bands and music I have and still am in the intervening 25 years. A few stick with you, but there's only so many times you can listen to even stuff you love (and may revisit in the future) and not reach saturation point.

I agree to a certain extent. The part I agree with is that there's no reason why someone should be stuck in a certain time period and refuse to even listen to new artists that are coming out. Just as a lot of kids these days should attempt to listen to discover older artists.

I definitely don't agree in getting sick of bands you love though. Certain music is just timeless, and I could never get sick of it. If there are bands you do discard that you used to listen to, chances are they weren't that great to begin with.

I haven't really listened to a lot of Pearl Jam, but Daughter is top song. Would be right up there on my all time favorites list. Even Flow is also a great rock song.

Did anyone go out and purchase the Ten reissue today with the remixed version of the album and the Unplugged DVD?

I did and I frickin' love it. I'm through Why Go and I really like it! This is one of my favorite albums from the 90's, so to listen to a fresh take on it is refreshing. I plan on watching the DVD this weekend.

What's the picture quality like on the DVD? Is it comparable to the Nirvana MTV Unplugged?

I don't own the Nirvana one, but looking at YouTube clips, it's pretty much the same.

It's not enhanced or widescreen or anything. It's pretty much like it aired in 1992 or whenever.

I mainly got it to own it. I'm glad I did.

Pearl Jam faded? Go to one of their shows and you will see they haven't slowed down. At least not in concerts which is the most important thing.

Seen them couple years back. One of the best shows I have ever seen. So much energy from both crowd and band. House lights came on in the whole arena and they still kept playing and had the whole crowd singing.

Too many bands have been clumped into the grunge fad where many bands sucked, but there were some gems in there.

Did anyone catch Pearl Jam on the debut of the new Tonight Show? They sounded like a bad opening act at a small club. It just wasn't a good performance.

Gotta admit, had Ten have a good few months (since Badman referred to it as the Throwing Copper of Pearl Jam) and I've tried to listen through it a few times but failed. Even Jeremy, which is pretty much lauded by all, I don't get it. Don't care for his voice and the music just seems... I dunno... too alternative and lacking meoldy. A hook to grab onto. I can't find any. sad.gif

I gotta agree here, i've never been a bit Pearl Jam fan, Eddie Veders voice has never really endeared itself to me, I did quite like Ten, no denying there are some great songs on that album but the desire to listen to any in recent times isn't there. the riff in evenflow is iconly awesome, Alive is probably my favorite song of theirs but eh ... over it.
