The production is in fact top notch and I love the way the put it together. The band sounds great. Ed sounds like pure shit.

I'm usually very forgiving and optimistic etc...but I have to admit...Ed is whiney in those clips. The first words he utters in Overcome actually made me stare at the screen in disbelief, it sounded really off. And what the hell was THAT at the start of I Alone?

We need to low gruffness back. We NEED it.

EDIT - During the breakdown of I Alone, he sounds good when singing next to Chad T...and then Pat's bass is cool. But Ed's vocals are ALWAYS, ie when he's singing any normal part...too high. Bring it DOWN, man.

I bought the DVD/CD combo today and I think it rocks!
Cool videos, cool music, cool backstage stuff and amazing camera work in the Paradiso, both of the band and the audience. I'm really impressed by how it turned out!

How is the promotion for the DVD/CD going by you?

uhm I don't really know actually.
The DVD is mentioned several times on Dutch radio this week (where Ed also appeared), but when I today went to buy it, the dvd's weren't even to be found, only after asking for it at I got one. But it's the release day though.

Damn what the hell happened at the end of All Over You? The OH-oh-oh-oh barely came out. This one was good. I think they should have shown a little more gracey. I liked how Pink Pop 2002 gave alot of time to the Chads.

Now that I think about it, Ed is a really arrogant guy. What kind of humble person would use a Megaphone?laugh.gif

After watching the DVD in full I think especially I alone, Lakini's Juice and I walk the Line were really highlights, but there were really only few moments I didn't enjoy. It's really good overall.

Btw, today Ed was going to sing 'Forever' on Ducth radio! That makes it the first live performance of the song, right? thumbsup.gif
Unfortunately, I missed it sad.gif

You motherfuckers wink.gif I am waiting another few days before I see it. That will be the first time I hear Purifier too. I've got the day planned out. Get up, shower, go to Intercity Mall, pick up the CD and the DVD/CD combo, go to work, go home, heat up some spinach pizza and pour some red wine...get comfy with the lady, watch the DVD, probably end up making love half-way through....miss the encores...not hear Purifier until a few days later.

I watched part of both videos and think they are both very good. However, I think Live is more dedicated to their performances now than they have ever been in their career. The tours from TDTH/V/BOP era's always had the exact same setlist. Now you can hit a show and expect a few different songs per night. The band expanded their catalogue, and I think it makes for a less predictable show.

The band still gets in done in concert.

their shows prior to tdth had varied setlists, and despite the setlists the shows prior to 2003 were generally way better than they are now because eds voice was better.

Got tired of waiting for the Aus release date (and seriously, wtf?!) so bought the cd / dvd combo off some dutch website. Fuck you, sony/bmg.

bol.com sent me an email a couple of days ago saying it was being shipped out to me on the 4th. Another eight to ten working days later... rockin'.

here it is: Forever (acoustic) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31myAXsyqWI

Also I Alone and Overcome were played: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA4C5I6xEAI / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XASwiakwhNc

Nice to see Overcome combined with a guitar again, that doesn't happen often! no.gif

I think this wasn't Ed's best performance, but it isn't bad either.
Also note that this were no professionally recorded videos, just recorded by the audience.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but to the Dutch fans who received a copy of the CD/DVD at the premiere or who have purchased it from BOL - is the writing on the cover/dvd/cd/menus in Dutch or in English?
