Yes, the song was in the closing credits - I was looking for it. I believe that Radioactive was the record company listed, but I'm not 100% sure on that... I was just excited to see their name up there.

Radioactive was listed but so was another company but for some strange reason I can't think of the name right now.

Universal was listed as having had acquired the license.

If Universal has the license we should try to contact them and just get them to put it up on itunes

I've just pulled the audio off the you tube clip.

Much better quality IMO.

The license was obviously to have the song in the movie and would clearly not be a license allowing Universal to put the song on Itunes.

The music industry is ran by stupid people. I'm usually somewhat benevolent in giving people the benefit of the doubt when something stupid takes place, maybe thinking they have a reason for doing something seemingly stupid, but I can't think of a single reason that "Hold me up" would be locked away after 13+ years.

Maybe Ed just knows this is the best he has ever done and knows he will never do better so why out-do yourself when you're not done doing stuff. eh.gif

Does anyone have, know where there is, or can trasncribe a guitar tab/chord sheet for Hold me Up? I would be forever thankful...

I would assume you are talking about me, because I have made a stink about it with Live's albums. To say I back you up is an understatement. The sound quality on Death Magnetic is so bad, fans have asked for the album to be re-mastered, and the mastering engineer is so upset with how Metallica/the record company wanted it, he doesn't want his name associated with it.

And not to hijack the thread....but....for those who have purchased Zeitgeist by Smashing Pumpkins.....take a listen at how these songs could have sounded:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3K5ZXVQD

Granted, these are acoustic versions, but listen to how good they sound when everything in the mix isn't as loud as it possibly could be. Bleeding the Orchid sounds incredible. It really makes me sad when I wonder how much music has been ruined by the loudness war. I can't wait for when TC, SS, and TDTH get re-released with full dynamic range....let's hope that one day it will happen.

Now where's the other guy who always refutes what I say and tells me I'm crazy? lol.gif

I didnt see this link before posting it on another topic, sry! You get all credit! hi.gif rockin.gif guitar.gif

I was doing some reading and came across post where somebody said that they had contacted LIVE's MySpace about "Hold Me Up." They received a reply back and it's keeping me hopeful.

RE: Hold Me Up - Web movement is growing....

Thank you for bringing this excitement and desire for this song to our attention. We’ve also noticed this on various sites and have already mentioned to management about this. At this point there are still no plans to release it or post it on myspace (we did suggest that as an option too). But we will definitely let everyone know if we hear any news!

Hi,

My name is Tara and I have been a lifelong Live fan who has seen Live many times during my 30 years - most recently at the Hammond Festival of Lakes in Northwest Indiana. The reason I am writing is to inform whoever helps Live manage this site on myspace that there is a web movement developing in support of Live re-releasing this song! The use of the song in Zach and Miri is drawing new attention to this song and people are trying to find places to purchase Hold Me Up/Lift Me Up online.

Here is an example of a website where people are talking about trying to find the song. (look at comments at the bottom) If Live will not re-release it or provide it for downloads - please put it on Live’s player on their myspace page. It is an amazing song!

http://reelsoundtrack.wordpress.com/2008/1.../zack-and-miri/

I hope whoever reads this does not just disgard this message. I appreciate your time and attention.

Live rocks!

well at least the band/management is aware of the excitement.
The petition for Vine Street worked in the past. I hope something can happen again for Lift me Up (especially because it aren't only the Live fans who want to hear the song).

I played around with it a bit but can't figure it out. I have a problem with trying to put everything in the key of G though so that doesn't help me any. I would love to get a hold of the guitar part too.

I dunno much about guitar... but you can watch him play it in the video... I'm sure that can offer you some clues.
